The inside of the house was as describe however there were definitely some problems with the property. The grass on the front lawn was not cut and was about waist high. There are signs all over the house saying not to leave the property and that the neighbor who owns the property behind has cameras and will press charges for trespassing. This was not in the description and it should be. If the grass had been taken care of it would not have felt as restricted. We booked months in advance so there is no excuse as to why the grass was not taken care of. If the grass can’t be cut for whatever reason that should also be stated in the description. We couldn’t let our dog out in the yard because of the high grass and ticks. The neighbors house is very close which is not pictured or in the description. If the property can’t be left they should install a fence around theirs. It felt very restrictive, had we known about how small the property was and that the grass would not be tended to we would have simply booked something else.

Hi Mike, we truly appreciate you sharing your thoughts about your recent stay. Your feedback is essential to us, and we've relayed your comments to the homeowner, who would like to address the following:
-Regarding the concerns raised in your review, we have taken steps to reduce the grass height around the property. It's important to note that the majority of our property is intentionally maintained in its natural state to support local pollinator colonies.
-We have also clearly marked the boundaries of our property to prevent inadvertent trespassing onto neighboring lands by guests and their pets or children. Trespassing is a serious offense in Vermont, and renting our property does not confer access to adjacent properties owned by others.
-We apologize if adherence to state laws and our respect for our neighbors' private property appeared restrictive during your stay. Please rest assured that we have adjusted the height of our natural grasses to address your concerns.
We strive to ensure that every guest enjoys the best possible stay, and we eagerly anticipate hosting many more satisfied guests at this property, as evidenced by our other reviews.
The house was a very cute ski cabin-y feeling vacation spot with a gorgeous view of the reservoir. Location was great- not too far from the center of Wilmington. And a drive through the mountains/National Forest away from the other cities/tourist areas near Bennington. It snowed while we were staying and the owners stayed on top of plowing so we could drive in and out - they weren't kidding about needing 4WD to get in and out in the winter. Overall, we'd come back in a heartbeat

This cabin was cute and conveniently located near the mount snow. The one major downfall was the cleanliness of the bed. We arrived late Friday night and finally went to bed around 2 am. When I pulled down the comforter the white sheet was covered in black dog hair. Clearly the sheets were not washed or changed between stays. Luckily I found clean sheets in a dresser and changed them. The next morning I reached out through the VRBO app and never got a response back. It very disappointing since people pay a hefty cleaning fee when booking. Other than that the house was good.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this cozy rustic cottage. It’s perfect if your looking for some R&R and time at the lake. There are shops and restaurants just a few miles down the road. It was very clean and fully equipped to accommodate to make meals. As they mention in the write up, I would say not a good place for small kids with all the stairs and not much of a yard.
