I went with the photos and not the description - this is a cozy (ie small and cluttered) basement. It has low ceilings and has no natural light or air. And yes, there is a lot of noise from the upstairs guests (felt like they were tap dancing and would fall through the floor) and they have control of the AC. Wasn’t our jam, but appears others had no issues with it. The host tried to help but better if the photos were not doctored to make the place seem light and airy and if I got a real apology. And Evolve seems to have the guest in mind - but not sure they vetted this properly like they promise and did nothing to follow up on my concerns.

    Manager's Response:

"We’re glad you gave the Honey Hive a try, though we understand it may not have been the perfect fit for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
    - Our listing photos, taken by Evolve, accurately reflect the property’s size and features.
    - We note in the listing that this is a shared basement apartment with lower ceilings, which may not suit all guests, though there are windows and overhead lighting.
    - Guests may find that playing some background music or turning on the TV helps create a more private and comfortable atmosphere.
    - Visitors often enjoy the property’s gardens, fruit trees, and berries, as well as the proximity to downtown shops, events, and the Shakespeare festival.
    - We were also happy to accommodate your request for an early check-in.
    Thanks for your feedback."

  • Perfect home stay

    5/5

Had a great 2 day stay at Beehive place. Host has provided everything and more than any traveller would need including organic fresh eggs .loved the place and all the small details that made it a home . Highly recommend this place.

It was perfect for what we needed. The listing mentions that you can hear people upstairs. That is very true. Otherwise, it was perfect!

  • Very quaint experience

    5/5

The decor was entertaining, so much to see with all the period and themed collectibles. We enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful garden. Steps down to the basement unit take careful navigation with luggage. Property owner was gracious and helpful.
