  • Dirty and uncomfortable

    Pros: walking distance to beach, cute, decently equippedCons: the place clearly hadn’t been cleaned as there was dog fur and hair everywhere. It seemed no surface or floor had been wiped or swept. There was a bug in our bed, spiders throughout, and the bathtub faucet was seriously rusted from the Surfside water (not suitable for kids). The water there is not potable so it would’ve been nice to have one jug of drinking water available already but there wasn’t. The faucet water also smells horrible as if it came straight from the ocean (not the property’s fault but fyi). The Evolve property manager was dismissive of how unclean the place was and only offered for someone to come out and change our linens. The place definitely needs some more updates as there are several hazards to kids: top bunk bed is broken, exposed nails all over the deck, etc We definitely will not be staying here again.

    Hi Kayla, we want our guests to feel comfortable and welcome from the moment they arrive, so we take cleanliness and safety concerns seriously. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
    - We take the accuracy of our listing seriously and we note that the tap water is not potable and we do not provide drinking water. Guests can refill 5-gallon water cans for free at a nearby city office just 0.25 miles away.
    - After inspecting the deck, they did not find any exposed nails but will continue to monitor for any safety concerns, and the crack in the upper bunk bed slat has already been repaired to ensure guest comfort.
    - A major freeze occurred the week before your stay, which may have caused some bugs to seek warmth indoors. However, the home was treated for pests both before and after the freeze, and regular maintenance is in place to keep the space bug-free.
    - We have also addressed your feedback with the cleaning team, as we are committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
    We appreciate your feedback so this homeowner can continue providing great stays for future guests!
