Your centrally located retreat is within walking distance of restaurants, shops, a supermarket, liquor store, and a movie theater. A free public bus also stops right outside the front gate, offering easy access to superb attractions on the island, as well as Port Isabel.

  • Great Unit-Building Could be Better

    We’ve stayed at Suntide III for years. This was our first in 803. Check in was seamless and the front desk employee was polite and helpful. We found it clean and comfortable with a well appointed kitchen. It only lacked a salad spinner. The layout is a bit awkward with the fridge in a corner. The motorized shades do not function. We were unable to lower them which was a drag when the East sun blasted in. I spoke with the front desk about it. They knew it was an issue but no one offered a remedy. An employee was supposed to come and work on them but one never appeared. The tap water on SPI is AWFUL. You’ll need to buy water for drinking and cooking. Bring extra paper towels and TP. The unit has lots of beach equipment like chairs, noodles, blankets, sand castle stuff. The building’s decision to stop towel exchange is BAD! A limited number of bath towels is provided and necessitates daily laundry. They will not give you more towels. The current method of umbrella reservation is BAD. Bring back the option of a weekly reservation. The elevators need major cosmetic help and the property would benefit from landscaping and plants throughout. The water was great as usual with constant cool breeze coming off the gulf. We had minimal sea grass and zero jelly fish. The beaches were quite clean with a little trash on the beaches at the end of the day. We did pick up a little tar on feet/shoes a few times. Wipes are available at the front desk. We will definitely return to SPI but will investigate other condo buildings for the future.

    2nd time at Suntide first time in unit 803 and cannot recommend unit 803 enough. Everything we needed plus what we didn't realize we needed. Clean , great view, comfy beds, nicely decorated! We will be back
