I was extremely disappointed with the rental at 215 Lake Placid. Despite the assurance of handicap accessibility in the property listing, I found that it was not accessible as promised. This is the exact wording in the VRBO listing:"FAQ: Step-free access (elevator), low lake water levels (fishing & kayaking is permitted, boating is not)"During the booking process, I specifically searched for properties that were suitable for individuals with mobility restrictions, and relied on the information provided in the listing to make an informed decision. However, upon arrival at the property, it became evident that it was not adequately equipped or modified to accommodate individuals with mobility challenges.The absence of an elevator was our issue. As the property was advertised as accessible via an elevator, I expected it to have an elevator or an alternative means of vertical access. However, there was no provision for individuals who could not use stairs. The CARGO LIFT had labels on it specifying that it was for cargo and could not accommodate people. I was surprised by these accessibility shortcomings, as they directly contradicted the information presented in the VRBO listing, and when we asked for verification over the phone, the representative did not say anything about it not being an elevator for people. These promised accessibility standards were crucial in my decision-making process.As a result, my vacation experience was marred.

We had 12 adults and 1 infant in the house and we didn't feel cramped at all. Plenty of space, beds, pillows, towels, and lots of outdoor games like cornhole and frisbees were provided. The property managers were easy to work with, they were quick to respond and helped us out by shipping a charger we left behind. The only negative I have about the property is the status of the lake. There was enough water to float on and the water is easy to access but apparently the dam is broken and the lake is very very low. Not their fault but worth noting if you are looking for a property.

All in all great experience. A lot of spiders. Fire ants came out of master tub faucet. Bbq didn’t work. Other than that the stay was wonderful and the house was excellent.

The house was very dirty. Spider webs all outside on the patio area. The AC was off when we got there and it took forever to cool down. Couldn't work the lock to check in, and couldn't get in touch with anyone to help. Other than that, the house is beautiful, just like in the pictures. It also has everything you need in the kitchen. Location is perfect as well.

From the owner: "Shannon, thanks for staying with us! We are sorry that your stay fell short of your expectations.
- We spoke with our property manager, Hilda (an Evolve Partner) and she said that the guests did not mention any issues throughout the weekend aside from the upper balcony having leaves on it. After they mentioned it, she sent out the handyman to blow the leaves and cleaned the outdoor furniture.
- We have now had another guest mention the inside was dirty, so we have taken the following actions:
- We have hired a new cleaning crew to service our home in order to ensure the home is up to par for our next booking.
- We will also be setting in place a supervisor inspection on the morning of guest check-in. This must be done with enough time to allow for remediating any problems that are found.
- We've also replaced all linens - fresh towels and sheets are now at the property, though no guests have specifically mentioned them, we felt it was time for a refresh to make sure that doesn’t become a problem.
- Owners will also be conducting spot inspections to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
