AC didn’t get below 75 the entire stay. It was 86 upon arrival (in JUNE) and took over 18 hours to get to 75 and wouldn’t cool down more than that. Air filters were filthy. Bugs and cobwebs throughout the house. Guest contact did not respond until we got the help center involved and still was very hard to communicate with.

Besides that, the house was as pictured and we enjoyed our (very hot) stay. A little overpriced for practically camping, but the kids had fun!

  • Was a great vacation with my family

    4/5

We enjoyed 5 nights and 6 days at this cabin on the lake. The dock was destroyed (mainly because it was very old) from the storm and was completely unusable, but the owner contacted us 1 week before our stay offering a full refund if this was not acceptable and allowed us a late checkout for the inconvenience.

    Pros:

The cabin was quaint, and lovely. It fit our family of 6 just fine. (it says for 10 but 2 would need to sleep on the couch, playpen was provided in the closet, we didn't need)

The location was great, the view great.

Once it cooled down it seemed to stay cool.

Most things were in working order.

We did not use but it had dishes, spices, gas grill and more for use.

    Linens and pillows were provided.

    The beds were comfortable.

Peaceful and quiet and both neighbors were super friendly and fantastic.

The cabin feel was great and the kids loved the upstairs.

    Cons:

The door is tricky as some others have posted. It opens by lifting up not down.

The dock was broken (as we were told) but we did see an excavator arriving on a barge, to repair as we were leaving.

The AC did have trouble catching up a little during the day (maybe got up to 77 when 90 outside) but cooled down at night.

The fan in master had no remote, but I think that is being addressed.

There were many cobwebs inside the double paned windows, but no bugs really in the house itself. Also cobwebs in corners of rooms (on the cleaners really).

The communication with the owner was very delayed, sometimes over 24 hours, but usually did respond.

The master bed is very low. If you have issues getting up from low places, keep this in mind. I am handicapped and it was a struggle, but manageable.

Overall we really enjoyed and needed the stay and would gladly stay here again. The inconveniences were very minor and did not hinder our enjoyment. I am listing them purely for information, so they are not a surprise and not as a complaint.

  • AWFUL!!! Not as pictures or description claim!!!

    1/5

Host is awful. Door wouldn’t open. Bugs & spiderwebs everywhere. The dock is in pieces and you cannot access the water, debris from the dock is all along the shoreline so no swimming there. The host is very rude and inaccessible. She promised me a 20% refund then just stopped replying. Horrible customer service. Charges you a.cleaning fee but wants you to do half the cleaning before you leave. Do not recommend!

  • Wonderful house with a couple of minor things...

    4/5

Had an amazing time here -- the decor was so tasteful and the furniture so comfy. The bathroom was like a spa experience. My friends and I had so much fun just relaxing and hanging out. I might have liked to walk out on the pier, but it didn't seem all that structurally sound in places, so we avoided that. But the fire pit was very nice and the chairs and view made for a lovely evening. For anyone staying here in the future, you might want to make sure you know the front door code by heart or have your phone with you at all times. The door automatically locks when closed, so if you lock your phone inside and get stuck outdoors, there's no recourse but to ask the neighbors for help or find a public phone somewhere (not sure where) to call Evolve for the code.
