  The good: the location is a front row house right in the water with an incredible view.

  Its dog friendly

  It was very well-stocked with plenty of linens and soaps- basically everything we needed except trash bags.

  The inside of the house has a nice open layout for the common areas and private bedrooms

  The bad: like another review said, the sand is way too deep in front of the driveway that you cannot park in the driveway. We had to park off to the side of the public access road. I did not feel my car was very secure this way.

  I attenpted to contact the management company twice with no response.

  The upstairs toilet did not flush.

  The house has not been kept up and taken care of the way one would expect. The upstairs closet door literally fell on me.

  Overall, the parking situation, upstairs toilet and lack of communication from the management company,are the reasons I wouldnt stay there again.

• Great location perfect spot

  Place stayed cool despite baking in the sun all day. Access to the beach was private and very nice. We ate inside and outside on the picnic table. This was a perfect spot with gorgeous views, great beds, nice sheets and plenty of kitchen gadgets and cookware for everything. We made all our meals while there and it was perfect. The house is now blue though!

  Located right in the beach. Beautiful views. Quiet dark nights. This home is beautiful inside and very comfortable. We loved it!!! Will return!

• Home in disrepair

  There are so many things that were disappointing about this home and location. This house should never have been rented in the first place. The home had lots of storm damage and disrepair inside and outside. The outside of this home is unsafe for young children. I was even concerned for our older children with the metal debris around the outside of the home. The storm shutters were falling off of the house and had fallen off in several places. There was a huge, rolled up window shutter laying on the patio. There were shards of torn off window shutters laying around the steps to the doors. There were piles of sand underneath the home which made it almost impossible to move our vehicle once we had parked and it was impossible to even park under the home due to the massive amounts of sand filling the parking area. The washing machine and dryer were broken. This was a terrible discovery for a party of 6 with 4 children! The management did set up a laundry service for a few days of our stay to accomodate our dirty clothing. However, what was promised as a daily service turned to a three time service instead. There were holes in the walls, I think from the areas where the storm shutters had been ripped out of the outside of the house. There were holes in the flooring in the children's room. The beach outside of the house was really bad, the sand was all underneath the house instead being on the beach! This was a crazy disappointment. We enjoyed driving into the old town square of Galveston and that was the best part of the stay, not even at the house or the beach! The management offered to move us but did not have accomodations for the entirety of our stay so we would have had to move twice, and with 4 kids and a dog, that sounded quite unhappy. Instead they offered a three night stay at a different location in the future. However, we have been unsuccessful in scheduling that three night stay anywhere due to the unresponsiveness of the management. We tried at least three times to redeem the three night stay but have been told that we will have to call again at another time or that they will contact us, which they have not. I hate to leave a bad review. We made the best of a very bad situation and I am proud of the kids for being so upbeat even though the house was NOTHING as it was advertised and the photos are wildly deceiving. Balcony is full of splinters. My advice, shut down the property until necessary repairs can be made.
