We were well aware going into to this property it was on a mountain in TN. It was small we didn't need anything big it was my husband and I and our 13yr old. Walking in it appeared okay. The front keypad worked ok. It appeared clean. After being in the small cabin for more than 10min we realized that the mini blinds were torn apart in many spots as if an animal was left in the cabin alone. We also noticed the grill was in many pieces next to the outbuilding. The back door didn't lock they just placed a small table in front of it in hopes nobody would realize. I reached out to the owner to let her know so she knew we were not responsible. Upon further investigation we found dirty dishes in the cupboards. Walnuts on the folded towels next to the bed (like an animal had been in the cabin), and mouse droppings in the bed under the pillows. We still stayed that night because we found a lot of that late and there wasn't much we could do. That was an awful choice. None of us slept do to the fact of hearing critters scratch and dig and then we heard them scamper across the floor. We have stayed in TN before and stayed in many cabins in the woods on mountains. This is the first time we have ever had this happen. It was completely unexpectable. With no help from the owner or VRBO. I can only suggest to Run the Other Way!

The refrigerator & stove did not work properly. I would not plan big meals due to the appliances situations.

So I want to give a fair review, so here goes. First off, this place is quaint, secluded, and cute. That being said, I was unimpressed. When I arrived, the door code did not work. I was able to get in through an unlocked door. The two patio doors stick to a ridiculous level. I then realized they stuck because the bedroom, which appears to be a possible add-on, is slanting downward, as it is on the edge of the mountain (not comforting). The water pressure in the bathroom is not impressive either. I was concerned enough that I decided to leave and rent elsewhere. After speaking with the management company, the owner apparently told them "That's the way houses are built in Tennessee." That has got to be the worst excuse I've ever heard. I took own a rental property and while I was not expecting luxury, I wasn't expecting to feel unsafe. The owner refused a refund as well. Unless you are used to this kind of "construction," I would simply recommend staying elsewhere. It's a shame because I was looking forward to the seclusion and serenity. Also, it says there are shared laundry facilities, but there are none. I was advised by the guest contact that the closest laundry facility is 25 minutes away. The one plus, the view from the patio is amazing. A little obstructed by trees, but amazing nonetheless.
