4 Stars House / 2 Star POC: House was Nice & conveniently located for our needs. Clean, except for family of dust bunnies under the king bed. Security, they don't change the access code for the front door lock (printed in book). Some issues with parking. The listing says 2 parking spots & inside the house was a parking diagram which stated parking on the road was illegal & we'd be cited. The property home-made parking spots were not big enough for SUV's, so we parked on the public road in front of the house after clarifying restrictions with the Deadwood Police. The next day the POC tried to mandate no parking on the public road, again stating that we'd be cited. I cordially replied that I contacted the Deadwood Police Traffic Div to inquire & the Traffic Enforcement Officer (Pam), stated that since there's no signs posted restricting parking & it was not apart of the "Residential Permit Zone", it was legal to park. I asked the Prop POC for the Ordinance # they had been allegedly cited under in the past. I didn't get a reply, nor did I hear from them again during our stay. Finally, the listing said "complimentary toiletries". Upon arrival their book said it was a "starter set" & there's a Dollar General down the street (we had 2 rolls of TP for 6 people). Only Vrbo that's done this before & if we'd known, would of brought supplies with us. They need to update listing & not bother guests about public parking. The house & furniture was nice and we'd give'em another shot.

From the owner: "With the entire city of Deadwood listed on the National Historic Register and most homes dating back to the 1800s, parking throughout the area is extremely limited. We’re fortunate to have more on-site parking than most properties in town. That said, even with our added capacity, we are unable to accommodate multiple oversized pickup trucks with trailers and side-by-sides.
We’re sorry to hear that the parking didn’t meet your needs, but we do want to let you know that there is ample free overflow parking available just a block away, behind the First Interstate Bank.
We appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoyed your stay in historic Deadwood."
The house was beautiful inside and out. It was well maintained. Definitely will be on our save list!

This was a great space to stay! Right in downtown, so expect traffic noises for sleeping. There is a newly redone park area across the street. There is a nice deck where we watched a storm roll in. We were confused about parking when we first got in, but there is info inside the house with visuals. The beds were comfy and the air conditioning was great to come back to after a hot day outside! I would definitely come back to Deadwood and stay here again!
