  • I'm going to be honest

I have to admit the cabin was not like other AirBNBs or Vrbos I have stayed in before. First off.....it's old. Reminds me of an old summer camp cabin. Musty. wood smell as soon as you enter. It's small. Kitchen is very small. In places the floors are uneven. Not sure when the last time anyone stayed here.......but we found 3 huge cobwebs (NOT spiderwebs !!!). We also found a used bath towel hanging behind the bedroom door that the cleaning crew must have missed from the last occupant. I am NOT used to showering with well water, so I smelled that on my skin the rest of the day. No soap could cover that up. We kept losing the television reception. Looks like there's no heat or A/C. Although we did find huge fans in a closet. Come prepared. When using the toilet, you're kinda "boxed-in". If you happen to be a large person, you're going to snuggle-in.

Good things: It's very secluded in the woods, but neighbors are close-by. The beds were actually comfortable and we slept well. It has a nice back porch/deck.

I'm pretty sure we will not be coming back, but if you're looking for something simple & reasonable, this might be for you.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Richard, thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We understand that the cabin’s rustic charm may not be for everyone, and we appreciate you highlighting both the positives and areas for improvement. After sharing your comments with the homeowner, they wanted to address a few key points:
    - This cabin offers an “off-grid” experience, so it’s best suited for guests seeking a rustic, woodland getaway. While there isn’t central A/C or heat, large fans are provided, and the property’s secluded location allows for a true retreat into nature.
    - We have since followed up with the cleaning team to ensure that any missed details, like leftover towels and cobwebs, are thoroughly addressed before future guests arrive.
    - The cabin’s bathroom and kitchen are compact, reflecting the property’s cozy, cabin-like design, and we encourage guests to review the listing photos to ensure it meets their expectations.
We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the comfortable beds and secluded location. Your feedback helps us continue improving, and we’re grateful you took the time to share your thoughts.

Amazing stay - loved the property and all the animals. Nice and quiet with plenty of privacy to enjoy our vacation. Cabin was a great space for unwinding after a day in the woods exploring. Our 2.5 year old loved the playground monster truck that was right near the cabin & the never ending supply of farm cats.

Very relaxing and comfortable. Will 100% be going back. Bob & Mo we're awesome! We did not want to leave.

We had a great time cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Raystown lake was more than a mile away but didn't mind driving. Kids loved it and had a blast. Would go back.
