The house was conveniently located about 30 minutes from Hershey Park and easy to find. It had enough space for my children, and a list of restaurants was provided. We tried Piazza Sorrento in Hershey, which was both affordable and very good. However, there were no games or activity suggestions for families, which would have been helpful. The neighborhood seemed fine at first, but driving further into Harrisburg felt a bit unsafe. The home looked much nicer in the pictures than in reality. Landscaping was disappointing, with weeds instead of grass, and flies often came inside when doors were opened. A few spiders were also found in the bathroom.Do not park in the driveway, especially if you have a newer car. There are large holes where the asphalt meets the sidewalk and the sidewalk itself is uneven, causing cars to bottom out. Street parking is safer. Inside, the kitchen counters and backsplash were updated, but the cabinets were old. The kitchen was well stocked, which was appreciated. The upstairs bathroom had poor water pressure, with water running from both the shower head and tub faucet, and only a cheap plastic shower curtain. The downstairs bed looked nice but was oddly supported by slanted wooden posts; thankfully, all beds were still comfortable. The deck was dirty, though the outdoor furniture didn't seem sturdy. Don't plan staying again when we revisit Hershey Park.

The house was conveniently located about 30 minutes from Hershey Park and easy to access. It provided enough space for my children, which was a plus. There was a list of nearby restaurants in the Harrisburg and Hershey areas—we tried Piazza Sorrento in Hershey, which was both affordable and very good. However, there were no games or suggestions for family-friendly activities provided in the house.

The neighborhood seemed fine initially, but as you drove further into Harrisburg, the area felt less safe. The home itself looked much nicer in the photos than in reality. The landscaping was disappointing, with weeds instead of grass, and we had issues with flies coming inside whenever the doors were opened. We also noticed a few spiders in the bathroom.

One important note—do not park in the driveway, especially if you have a brand new car. There are two large holes where the asphalt meets the sidewalk, and the sidewalk itself is uneven. We learned quickly that pulling in and out caused the car to bottom out, so street parking is a safer option.

Inside, the kitchen counters and backsplash had been updated, but the cabinets were not. It was well-stocked with essentials, which was appreciated. The upstairs bathroom, however, only had a cheap plastic shower curtain you get from the Dollar Tree store, and the shower itself had poor water pressure. Water came out of both the shower head and the tub faucet at the same time, which caused the tub to fill while showering.

The downstairs bed had a nice iron frame, but the support system underneath was questionable—slanted wooden posts screwed in to hold it up. My son mentioned this only on our last night, otherwise, the beds were fairly comfortable.

The deck area was dirty, though the outdoor table and chairs were sturdy enough to use.

Overall, the house did not feel worth the cost—over $300 per night once taxes, fees, and cleaning charges were included. Don't plan staying there again when we revisit Hershey Park next year.

Overall the house was nice. The location was good for my planned activities. The one huge negative was the air conditioner was not working upstairs, so it was very hot. The last night of our stay window units were brought in making it the only night sleeping was restful.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Sean, thanks for sharing your feedback! We're so glad to hear the location worked well for your plans, and we also appreciate you letting us know how we can improve for future guests. The owner acted quickly once informed about the AC issue and, after an inspection, discovered that the compressor had gone out. To restore comfort, they installed portable and window units for the remainder of your stay. The central system is now in the process of being repaired to help ensure this doesn’t happen again.

  • Good house for what we needed

    4/5

We visited the area for Hershey and Lancaster. Nice and centrally located and a good house to crash after a long day. The lock on the front door was broken and the trash cans were overflowing and blocking the garage when we arrived. The bathrooms and kitchen weren’t as clean as I expected, I found a used hair tie in the shower, there was rust stains from the soap dispensers on the sinks, and there was toothpaste caked on the sink as well. The couch downstairs was really uncomfortable but the beds were nice and soft and cozy. Overall, the house fit our needs well but for the price, I expected the features and cleanliness to be a little higher standard.

  • Great place for families and kids

    5/5

Layout of the house worked great to have the kids downstairs and us adults upstairs. Quiet neighborhood with quick access to highway. Quick responses from owner when needed. Highly recommended!
