• Fun Weekend with Family

  We stayed at this house for two nights. Everything in the house was as advertised. There were plenty of plates and dishes, the furniture was comfy and so were the beds. We didn't spend a lot of time at the house, but we enjoyed it while we were there.

  As a side note, one of the beds upstairs had a piece of wood on either side of the middle of the bed frame. They stuck out about two inches. My husband scraped his leg on the piece of wood while getting out of bed. It scratched his leg enough to draw blood. I also scraped my leg on the wood but just got a bad bruise. I am not sure if you can remove the wood or cover it somehow to make it a little safer.

  Other than that, the house was great. We would definitely stay here again.

• Good location

  The house was located a short distance from a number of fun activities we did during the week: hiking, horseback riding, rafting, etc. We also used the community beach and pickleball courts a few times. The house was comfortable and a good size for our family to enjoy cooking meals and playing games.

• Family vacation

  Two things to be aware of.

  The HOA only allows 8 pool/lake passes per property, so even though the house easily accommodates 10 to 12 people, you only get eight wristbands. And you must wear them. So you do have to be creative about wearing them loosely if you know what I mean. And the fines are hefty if you are caught swapping them. But the pool and lake both have life guards which I loved with children.

  Also the downstairs bedroom does not have air conditioning. There is a box fan and the room tends to be cooler than the upstairs, but there were a few nights that were warm.

  But the positives outweigh those two negatives of this property.

  Every morning and evening there are deer in the backyard. The whole area is so quiet and peaceful… all you hear is nature.

  The house is tastefully decorated, with comfortable furniture and plenty of amenities. There are games in the downstairs room that the kids really enjoy. And the back deck is perfect for morning coffee.

  One morning a neighbor serenaded us with a saxophone for about a half hour.

  One of the biggest positives is Rachel, the owner. I have never worked with a more responsive and communicative owner. She answers questions within a quick time frame, often less than an hour, and always pleasant and positive.

• Getaway

  We found this place that was close to Kalahari, we were here for a wrestling tournament. My two kids loved the game room downstairs and spent most of their time there. The house was cozy in a quiet neighborhood.
