The view is very pretty, I got to see wild horses and elk. Definitely need 4 wheel drive to get up there. Very clean and had everything you need. Will definitely make it a get away from life.

First, the cabin is cool and decorated very nicely. We had 3 guys and had to share the loft bed but it wasn’t ever uncomfortable. Solid location if you’re wanting to go to the ski mountain.
Second, in our description it was stated that there was a hot tub and 1 picture of a hot tub. The hot tub was a heavy factor in why we chose this property vs. just staying at the mountain gods at the military rate. However, upon arrival there was no hot tub. I reached out to ownership and they said they have never had a hot tub or advertised one. It wasn’t until I sent screenshots of the property description with the hot tub portion highlighted that they admitted that they got rid of said hot tub. Owner texted me the following day saying they’d like to try and get a partial refund to me. They did not give any type of refund. I wasn’t really looking for one but there were back to back instances of lack of integrity and that’s what bothers me the most.
Cool cabin we had a great time playing uno. Just wish we would have had transparency.
Hate to say too much good about the cabin, because then I may never be able to reserve it again! Many thanks to the host for a great place at a very reasonable price.
The cabin is nicely appointed, and cleverly laid out. We had two adults and two kids. As with many rentals, there was a nice selection of games to play and an assortment of movies and books. The clean up instructions aren't onerous.
I had never used an induction cook top before, but it worked well after we figured it out (start on the right to turn on, if the pan is the right kind of metal it will then let you press the hand to start the heating then you can up and down the heat). Cast iron skillet was the best.
Cabin is located close enough to Ruidoso while also being secluded in the mountains. Within a short drive we saw horses and elk. The driveway will take a vehicle with at least some clearance to get up. 4WD or AWD is definitely helpful for the driveway but a 2wd pickup could likely climb it without too much trouble if it isn't wet or snowy. The driveway is facing a way that the small amount of snow melted quickly. You could park at the base of the driveway if you needed to but it is a decent climb to get to the cabin from the base.
We arrived the night it snowed an inch and there were crazy high winds, but it stayed plenty warm for us!
The sliding door to the bathroom came off the track once, but was relatively easy to reset so just be patient if that happens to you!
Water has a bit of a smell and slight taste, so bring some bottled water if that bothers you.
The outdoor gas fire pit was a nice touch.
Kids loved sleeping in the loft.
There are trash bins down by the base of the dirt road for when you leave.
Verizon worked intermittently at the Cabin but T-Mobile worked well.
Would stay again for sure
From the owner: "Thank you so much for the feedback! We're so glad you all enjoyed your stay and stayed warm! The wildlife is always a plus! Come back anytime!"
This tiny house was well done! So cute, welcoming, and cozy! Everything needed was there! When they say 4 wheel drive is recommended, it’s actually necessary! We had to park at the bottom and hike to the home! It’s a rough climb carrying bags so it limited what we brought up! The elk and wild horses were fun to watch. We would definitely come again, next time we will just bring the truck!
