  Very basic amenities only. Suggestions well received by owner. Beautiful location but could definitely use some outside repair work and yard maintenance.

  Hi Fran, thank you for your review. The homeowner wanted to address the feedback you provided:
  - We appreciate your suggestion regarding the towels for the hot tub. While we typically provide two towels per guest, there is a washer and dryer available for guest use.
  - Yard work is in progress. We have already trimmed and removed some bushes in the front yard, and the backyard will be addressed when we have a break between reservations.

  We rented this house to celebrate summer family birthdays. there were 8 of us, (all adults) and although the house sleeps eight comfortably, it is actually in two separate units, one up and one down, connected by a narrow spiral staircase. Since each unit is actually set up to accomodate 4 persons, there is no table, dishes, glasses, etc. on either floor to accomodate 8 people, and living room and deck seating is basically for 4 people. We had to move around the furniture and dishes to make a place for all of us to eat together. House is well equipped with appliances, et, linens, etc. but there was no soap in the dispenser in the upstairs bath. We located it elsewhere. The dock area and the firepit were very nice. Personally, I would prefer to have some of the trees limbed up to afford an open view of the lake. The weeds growing at the bottom of the deck stairs, through the pavers, was very unsightly and just to the right of that the grass was at least a foot high. The biggest turn off was the musty/mildew smell on the lower level, and particularly in the bedrooms. Each room has a separate through the wall hotel style heat/air conditioner which allows for different temps in each room, but several in the bedrooms were so noisy, that we turned them off.

  -The layout, as shown in our listing photos, includes both an internal spiral staircase and an exterior staircase, allowing access between the two levels.
  -We recognize that larger groups may need to rearrange some items for communal meals, but we appreciate your adaptability in making it work.
  -We understand that some guests may prefer a more open view, but we prioritize a natural setting that complements the area’s rustic charm.
  -Our usual yard maintenance provider was unavailable due to illness, but we’ve since addressed this to maintain our property’s standards.
  -As a cabin with older architecture, some challenges with airflow and appliance noise can occur, but we’re reviewing these areas to improve guest comfort.

  We were headed to the beach, but hurricane Debby had other ideas. Lake Norman worked out great instead. We went to the US Whitewater Center in Charlotte one day and stayed in to watch the Olympics on the day that the tropical storm reached Norman. Very nice space. Thank you!

  The house is always clean with everything stocked up when we visit. The hostess is always nice and really easy to get in touch with if needed. I travel almost every week and for the price and location right on the lake this property is a great place to stay.
