  • Nice floor plan and ample space

    4/5

The house has a nice floor plan, and plenty of space. It was a good location for our needs. We were there in December, but if the weather would have been warm, the screened in porch would have been great to hang out in! The house could use some minor updating - the upstairs carpet is worn out, the cabinets and baseboards are a little banged up, and there was some leftover opened food and random junk in the pantry and cabinets. There were also no blankets on the beds - just sheets and a comforter, and it was chilly at night. But the kitchen was pretty well stocked (except no can opener or potholders) and the furniture was nice. Overall, the house met our needs.

The property was as listed size wise but it definitely could have been kept up more. Cleanliness was definitely an issue. On the surface it looked okay but the kitchen drawers were stuffed with old nasty stuff. The garbage cans were disgusting under the bags. There were spider webs all over the back screened in porch. As soon as we pulled up the property owner pulled up and started yelling at us about no dogs being allowed. We had someone ride with us from TN to NC with a service dog and she was getting picked up and staying at a hotel. We had literally just arrive and the dog had not entered the house, I understand she thought we were having a dog stay there but instead of calmly introducing herself and asking or contacting the property manager she just yelled at us and drove off. Just could have been handled differently. Also there is a note by the upstairs thermostat stating not to touch it at all but it was set on heat and hot up there. Luckily Keith the property manager was very helpful in these situations. This property definitely needs a deep clean. Overall it worked for our stay for my nephews wedding.

  • Could have been better

    3/5

We were in town for my son’s wedding and asked for early check in. Host communicated that it would be $100 extra fee (for cleaning no less). No problem. When we arrived there was an ashtray out on the porch filled with cigarettes. Asked if that could be cleaned. Owner said he would be over, and never showed up. Kitchen counter and knobs were sticky - we cleaned those, along with the dining room table that had stains on it. The dining room chairs also all had large stains (these are permanent) as did one of the bedroom nightstands that we also had to clean. We were allotted one large trash bag, which was in the can, for our entire four night stay. Texted the host if there were any more received a simple “no”. We had to rummage around for a coffe maker, which there were several in the garage, until we found one that worked. The first one, which looked brand new in the box, didn’t work.

Each room has only 3 hangers, so if you are planning an extended stay, bring some. The rooms were big enough, the beds comfortable enough, but we had to buy more toilet paper for the house, as well, as there were only partial rolls strewn among the bathroom cabinets, and no full rolls.

Two giant cockroaches joined us in the house, as well, which someone else had mentioned in the their review.

The HVAC system is located downstairs and you cannot touch the controls upstairs which made for some very hot nights. It was also not allowed to be set any lower than 70 degrees.

  • Great getaway place

    5/5

This house was more than enough space for me and my family. The beds were very comfortable. Our contact host, Keith, was awesome, he responded to my text messages within 5 minutes, and was always pleasant to talk with. I will definitely stay here again if it is available, when I visit my family.

  • stay was okay

    3/5

I truly enjoyed my stay at the home. It was spacious, clean, and comfortably accommodated all seven of us. I appreciated the host’s flexibility in allowing us to check in two hours early. However, there were a few challenges during our stay.

The remotes for a couple of the TVs were not functioning. Although I emailed the host and received replacement remotes the next day, they arrived without batteries, rendering them unusable. Additionally, the screened-in porch on the patio was in disrepair, with the screen falling off and allowing bugs to enter. The host explained that recent weather and our early check-in prevented them from addressing this issue, which was disappointing as the porch was a key feature we had looked forward to enjoying.

A few nights into our stay, the keypad malfunctioned, and we had to call the host to let us in. Thankfully, the host arrived promptly at 10 PM to resolve the issue. Overall, our stay was satisfactory.
