The BEST!
5/5 My Labradoodle and I spent 10 days at Misty Mountain on Cole Mountain Road in Highlands, NC. The house and yard were immaculate when we arrived. Landy, the hostess, has seen to even the smallest of details like dog toys in the box next to the fireplace and black face cloths in the bathrooms for makeup removal. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking and storing meals to setting the table for a crowd to just me! Light switches were labeled. Instructions for use of the tv to the ventless fireplace logs were thorough and easy to follow. The bed was comfortable and the linens were of good quality. Nothing was unthought of as far our needs were concerned. We could not have been more pleased or felt more welcome. We look forward to being guests in the future at Misty Mountain.

Great property and best host ever!
5/5 Great spot to relax and unwind in the country, yet near to all the things Highlands has to offer. Home is well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable and easy stay. We loved sitting on the back porch and our pup loved the big fenced in yard. To top it all off, the host was amazing. We were there during hurricane Helene and he did everything possible to help us through a couple of crazy days. Highly recommend this Highlands retreat.

Our Favorite Vacation Spot
5/5 We love staying at Misty Mtn Hop! The house is perfect and we get to bring our dogs. If there’s an issue ( it’s rare) but Landy is extremely responsive!
The house is located less than 5 miles from downtown Highlands. We come for a month, every summer!! Can’t wait to return. Thank you, Landy!

Fall Haven
5/5 This was the perfect location to view the changing seasons. The home had been completely restored on several acres and decorated perfectly. Perfect outdoor porch with seating and of course a grill . Dog friendly too.
