A Little Piece of Heaven in Highlands!
5/5 My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Smallwood Cottage last weekend. Before our stay, we were contacted several times by the owner to make sure we had all of our questions answered and to let us know that they were available to help us if any problems occurred. Our stay was booked for two weeks after Hurricane Helene, and the property owners made a special trip to Highlands to make sure everything was in working order and ready for our visit. The cottage had plenty of towels and a well-equipped kitchen. The screened in porch was a wonderful place to sit and read or to take a nap on the large porch swing. Smallwood Cottage was a comfortable, happy place to stay in during a beautiful fall weekend. We look forward to a return visit someday!

5/5 Decided to do this trip last minute during the Thanksgiving holiday and this stay was amazing! For our family of 4 this was the most user friendly stay. If you are a hiker/walker the water falls/trails are very close and the town center for any logistical needs is as well. Highly recommend to check in during daylight to get an initial lay of the land. My eastern NC family will be looking forward to staying again. We loved it and hopefully so will you.
