I traveled to NC with my sister and her husband arriving at the rental at 3:50. I had them drop me off and told them I would wait the 10 minutes until check in time. As I walked towards rental my phone rang and it was the property manager wanting to know what I was doing there before 4 and that I was holding up the maintenance man from doing his job. He demanded that I leave and not come back til 4. I'm not sure what I was holding up as I had just arrived and there was no maintenance man present. I had rented a golf cart for the week so I got on it and went to my sister's rental. As far as rental itself, very outdated and toilet wouldn't completely flush.

Hi Sherry, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner, who would like to share the following:
- You arrived before the 4 p.m. check-in while our team was still cleaning, and your vehicle accidentally blocked them from leaving—sorry for any confusion that caused.
- We double-checked the toilet after your stay and confirmed it’s working properly.
- Most of the furniture is newer, though we understand that taste is personal.
Thanks for taking the time to leave your review.
Check-process was easy, proximity to beach was great, reasonably priced. Issues; The full size mattress was either broken or damaged. The imbalance of mattress made it impossible to sleep on that side of bed (slump in the middle). When contacting the owner they were polite but then sent some one who entered while not there and then told it wasn't an issue. The bed needs replaced. Other issues. (curtains are transparent no privacy). Very limited on useable towels, minimal bedding linens no spare or additional. Would recommend adding better quality towels and usable linens. It appears the place is a work in progress and hopefully updated in the near future. You're paying for beach proximity and that's about it.

From the owner:
"The handyman inspected the bed, after your approval, while you were at the beach, 30 yards from the 1 Ocean Fun. They did not find any damage to the bed. The mattress is in great condition. We provide clean, comfortable, and ample linens and towels to support the home's three-person max occupancy. The front curtain has no transparency. Thank you for your comments about 1 Ocean Fun being so close to our beautiful Emerald Isle Beach."
The best part was the location. So close to the beach and accessible to those who have difficulties with stairs

Property is dated and a bit worn down but acceptable. Space was.good for 2 people and our dog, that we crate when away, any more and it will be tight accommodations. Shower stall is quite small and.some larger people or clostrophobics may find it too small to work but worked fine for us. Public beach access is right accross the street, the pier a couple blocks and grocery store a couple blocks more.
If your just looking for a place to sleep and shower, your not going to find a better deal in Emerald Isle, in season.
