It was kinda spartan at best. My first impression was it was fairly clean but then I noticed the small spiders near the ceiling. Well, I killed those. The WiFi didn’t work. The Roku television only works in the living room. The main bedroom remote doesn’t work. So, we had to use one remote for 2 tvs. The other tv had no Roku or cable. 3rd bedroom no tv at all. The rain brought out numerous centipedes.in every room.

4 adults booked this home and they gave us 2 rolls of toilet paper for 4 days!! The host does NOT repsond to your calls/texts when you reach out regarding issues. The AC did not work! 82 degrees in the house and no one replied! The power was out in 80% of the house on our final night! 1 out of 10 stars I do NOT recommend!!

First, this house was nicely rehabbed and had all the necessary amenities. I would suggest the beds be upgraded beacuse they were hard and the master bedroom's bed squeeked a lot.

The start of our vacation and stay at the house started out badly. The property had not been adequately prepared for our arrival. The house was not cleaned, some of the power was out, and there was no working AC. We attempted to reach the designated contact but our call went to voicemail, and we were unable to leave a message as her mailbox was full.

Subsequently, we contacted Evolve to seek assistance.

We were advised to go to dinner while they addressed the situation. After several text messages and phone calls between different parties, the house was finally cleaned and a portable AC unit was installed for a little comfort. This unit could only service one one room.

After providing details about the condition of the house and expressing how the situation was not ideal, I was given the option of canceling with a full refund or at a minimum get one night refunded. The bad part was, we were not prepared with a back up plan and these offers were given many hours later. We tried to search for a reasonably priced hotel (under $150 a night) in the area or another VBRO in Durham but had no luck. Having no luck, we reluctantly decided to use the house.

The AC was set up in the master bedroom to provide comfort at night while we purposely stayed out of the house during the day. I helped out and purchased ant spray to keep the ant colony out of the living room. We were only able to get one remote to work on all the ceiling fans/lights. Instructions on using the fans and the front door lock (locking it) would be beneficial to future guests.

After all the initial woes we experienced, we did enjoy the remainder of our stay at the house. This house is closely located to Duke University, downtown Durham, Foster's, and Guglhupf. Foster's restaurant is awesome and a must stop for breakfast or brunch.

    Thanks for opening your home.
