Lovely house in a private area that’s not too far from downtown Boone. The deck has beautiful views of the mountains. The house itself is clean, well organized, and very spacious. The owner was friendly and helpful and made sure to explain how to reach the house. One thing to note is that there is a bit of steep drive, especially on the driveway leading up to the house. We were able to do it in a minivan, but probably would have struggled if the road was wet (during rain).
But before booking this place, you need to beware of the security cameras. The listing misleadingly states - in no uncertain terms - that there are only two cameras, both of which are outwards facing.
However, the day after checking in, we noticed two additional cameras - one on the deck pointed down towards the hot tub and another that covers the entire deck. This was a problem for us because we booked this place under the assumption that we would have a private living area.
I reached out to the property manager immediately and was basically told that the owners were not interested in removing the cameras because they wanted to monitor damage to the hot tub and BBQ. In my view, a camera right over the hot tub is a bit… much. And the 2nd camera could at least be limited to the BBQ itself instead of covering the entire deck.
Hi Assil, This is Evolve and we're happy to hear that you enjoyed the home with the beautiful views, but we’re sorry that the camera disclosure wasn’t as clear as it should have been and that it affected your stay. The homeowner confirmed that there are three outward-facing cameras on the property for security: one at the front door, one by the garage, and another overlooking the hot tub and mountainside. The camera near the hot tub was added after a previous incident, but we understand your concerns and will be looking into repositioning it to better ensure privacy. We've updated the listing to reflect all camera locations accurately and the owner will add it to their Welcome Book or in a visible location at the property. Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we hope to offer a more enjoyable experience in the future.
We enjoyed the serenity of the mountain views and the proximity to Boone and Blowing Rock. We’ll definitely return.
Our stay was absolutely amazing! The home had everything you need to have a wonderful stay!

We saw that snow was in the forecast so we booked this last-minute trip. The host, not knowing that we were looking for snow, called us immediately after we booked it, and asked us if we knew there was a storm coming. When we told him that we did, he helped us get all of the preparations in order to have an awesome and safe weekend and was very attentive throughout the weekend!
The cabin was plenty big enough for our large group and the teenagers and kids loved the extra lounging and game space.
The hot tub is large and very clean and nice, we enjoyed sitting in it while it snowed.
We had everything we needed in the kitchen.
The cabin is clean and comfortable.
The porch and view was so pleasant- we sat on it and watched the snow fall while we drank hot chocolate.
We enjoyed family games in the living room while we sat around the fireplace.
Awesome weekend!
Two bits to know before you go- the driveway is steep, and pack extra beach towels for the hot tub if you have a large group like us!
