  We had a great time. Property is apparently under some renovations. There was quite a bit of dust over everything and no sink in the downstairs bathroom. Minor inconvenience when using those facilities. Rather tight quarters.

• Nice little cabin in the woods

  Our family enjoyed the setting, the instructions for checking in were easy and simple, well stocked with amenities and activities, and our host responded when we reached out. The main parts such as the beds and kitchen were clean, however there was plenty of dust built up and it was visible. We didn't spend too much time indoors however; it wasn't fun to look at. Make sure when you book to try and confirm its cleanliness.

• We made it work

  Arrived after dark. Hard to see where to park & no lights on inside or outside cabin making it hard to see keypad. Space felt VERY cramped - nowhere close to as large as it appears in pics. Space is main floor, a "loft" accessed by literally climbing a 90 degree ladder, and a basement with a bathroom, bedroom and 2 pull out couches. The ONLY A/C unit for the entire property is a poorly working window type unit mounted in the window at the back of the loft space that you don't even have control over. It's set remotely to only come on when the inside temp exceeds 75 (which was ALL THE TIME even while the A/C was running) Honestly not much else really matters - the space is so miserably hot that you just don't want to be there at all.The bathrooms are small and cramped. The upstairs bed is uncomfortable & creaks loudly whenever you move at all.The living room furniture is actually very comfortable and considered sleeping out there instead of the bed. There was also a Wii downstairs and the kids enjoyed using that.The parking situation is horrendous. Basically street parking on the side of a mountain. Turning around is challenging and required as there is 1 way in and 1 way out.Overall a tremendous disappointment, especially for the price paid.

  - We have taken further measures to ensure the pre-stay email includes parking information that there are two additional parking places behind the cabin on road below with stairs coming up. To ensure efficiency, we could consider changing the front door light to a motion detection light
  - In addition to cooling the home, there is a ceiling fan and the A/C unit does have a remote control on the main floor. We're sorry if you experience some heat discomfort during your stay. If the front and back doors are open, it provides a very pleasant breeze
  - As we have the loft, we highly suggest that it's best used and loved by kids. The listing and photos accurately describe the beds to accommodate the proper sleeping arrangements. Although the home is advertised to sleep eight guests, it can actually sleep ten

  Cabin had everything we needed for our family of 5. Cozy and manager was very responsive to questions. Enjoyed our stay!

• comfortable, but dark

  The Mill River community seemed well managed, small and quiet. Nice community common area with small pool and open meadow and access to a nature trail. Our cabin was well equipped with TVs and games. The two decks are lovely (although had not been swept) and there are plenty of chairs for friends. Downside for us was that the traditional log cabin style was way darker than we thought .
