  • Relaxing get away on the lake

    5/5

We stayed a couple nights and really enjoyed it. The home was clean and right on the lake which we loved. Its a short drive in to do a little shopping if you feel like it in Osage Beach. Our hosts were very accomidating and even brought us some wood for our fire one night.

  • Relaxing getaway

    4/5

Small, rustic cabin tucked away in a private cove with a dock and a great deck overlooking it all. It was just the place if you want to get offline and get back in touch with nature, peace and quiet. We loved having our dogs with us, drinking coffee on the deck, kayaking in the cove, swimming in lake and just enjoying family time. It had everything we needed. Our host was quick to answer every question. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely cottage on the lake!

  • Short getaway

    4/5

The property was a little smaller than expected, but definitely worked for our family of 4. It was a great spot for our dogs, but a little further from restaurants than we expected on steep, curvy roads. Loved it was right on the water and the fire pit was great. The kayaks were great and we were able to fish off the dock. Nice quiet cove, but can’t really see the main channel.

Hi Brandy, we passed your review on to the homeowner, who would like to share the following: The Lake of the Ozarks stretches over a hundred miles in length, Our property holds a prime location at the five-mile marker, highly coveted for its proximity to Bagnell Dam, as well as an array of restaurants and entertainment options. It's worth noting that mile markers beyond fifteen are considerably farther away. Given the sprawling nature of the lake, it's typical for visitors to enjoy a scenic drive of a few minutes to reach the water's edge. Thank you for providing feedback about your stay and we look forward to the possibility of hosting you again in the future.

  • House review

    3/5

The house was cozy but a little dirty. There were some balls of dog fur on the first floor. The yard was unkept with an overgrowth of plants and leaves. The grill had some pieces of it and some other unknown parts lying on the ground around it. There was a partially full lawn waste bag next to the fire put. Parts of the house need updates, repairs, and corrections from some messy DIY work. One of the oars on the dock was broken.

Hi Amy, we passed your comments on to the homeowner, who would like to share the following:

Guests value we are pet-friendly and believe pets are family! Dog owners are aware that occasionally a puff or two of dog hair may become airborne, eventually landing, long after the cleaners have left.

You must have missed our sign indicating we are proud members of the Missouri Prairie Foundation. That means we value providing food and habitat for the commonly seen box turtles and 5 -lined skinks on the property. That being said, there is no "yard". Instead, there's a rocky slope with native grasses and wildflowers.

You mentioned seeing a lawn "waste" bag near the fire pit. Had you looked more closely you would have seen it was a complimentary bag of firewood for the fire pit. The bag itself is biodegradable.

All in all, sounds like you would prefer a stay in a hotel, over of a lakefront cabin. There are several available in the area for the same price, albeit not on the water and without the amenities we provide.

We try hard provide the best possible lake experience, and we look forward to hosting many more guests that appreciative nature and love pet friendly accommodations.
