1/5 We booked this property hoping for a relaxing getaway, but our stay was ruined by a severe tick infestation. Every time we stepped outside —even for a minute—we found ticks on ourselves and our dogs. In just two days, we removed over a dozen ticks despite trying to avoid them. This made it impossible to enjoy the deck or fire pit, which were major reasons we booked this rental.We reached out to the local contact multiple times (first about cleanliness issues with the dishwasher and sponge, and later about the ticks) and got no response at all. After leaving early, I went back and forth with the rental company over several emails, but they ultimately dismissed our concerns and offered no compensation—even though we paid for a night we couldn’t use.This property clearly needs professional treatment for ticks, and until that happens, future guests should be warned in the listing about the severity of the issue. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision and encourages the owners to address it properly.

- The dishwasher has been checked and is working properly, and we’ll replace any worn or unsanitary sponges between guests to keep the kitchen guest-ready.
