The property old, dated, not kept up, doors didn’t fully close, the downstairs shower was very small with water poor water pressure and the water never did get hot in that bathroom. The upstairs bathroom is dated and old, the toilet handle has to be lifted up or it continues to run. The coffee pot doesn’t work and the whole house smells like animal urine. The carpets are at least 20 years old. They’ve been cleaned, but the smell of animals lingers, as it does until carpets and pad, potentially sections of subfloor if are replaced. The devote throughout the house is mismatched,and completely random. I contacted the owner within our first 12 hours of our stay, but he was unable/unwilling to rectify or credit us in any way. It was disgusting living in that smell for four days.

Hi Elizabeth, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- The home was fully renovated in 2024. While the décor might not be everyone’s style, the listing photos are meant to give guests a clear idea of what to expect.
- All doors are functioning, though we’re taking another look to be sure. A plumber has since resolved the water pressure concern, and the water heater meets residential standards per the Department of Health.
- The toilet works, but to help avoid the handle sticking, the flush system is being upgraded. A new coffee pot was added in February, but we double-checked right away that it’s still working perfectly.
- No pets have lived in the home since it was purchased in 2014, but we take odor feedback seriously—based on your comments, the basement carpet has been replaced.
