Upon arriving at the house, we found it uncleaned, linens all over the floor, and not ready for guests; I contacted Mike, the owner. Mike called the cleaning crew, and immediately handled it. Mike was very apologetic and suggested we have dinner at Ken's Restaurant while the house was getting cleaned, dinner and breakfast the following morning on him.
Now the house.
I have to admit I failed to see that the train tracks ran behind the fence
of this property. The pics looked like the sand and ocean were on the other side. Every time a train goes through, it shakes the beds, making it feel like you're riding in one of the freight cars. I laughed, until I found out they wait until they are directly under the bedroom window to blare their whistle, not so funny! It would be nice if the house had a binder explaining the Check in - check out instructions. Recommendations on places to see, places to eat! and instructions on how to access the Internet/ Wifi. This Information was emailed upon confirmation of the reservation, but I never thought to print it, and take it with me. In other rentals, tape is placed under each switch advising what light or fan it operates helpful information!
In the living room there are several lamps, but (NO BULBS), same problem upstairs, as well.
The TV downstairs wouldn't work until we figured out, we needed to buy batteries for the remote and finally got it working. The other remaining (3) TVs in the house we were unable to get working. The stairs are very steep! If you have any health issues such as a hip, knee etc., this house (IS NOT) for you. I'm scheduled for hip surgery in January, so this was difficult for me. The house is close to the pier and beach, which was nice, but all the shops were closing down for the season, a bit disappointing. Some had 50% off, but not much to choose from. I'm leaving this review in hopes that it may help someone else looking to rent this home. If all these issues were fixed, this would be a beautiful place to stay. I've never experienced a rental without a welcoming basket and so many extras to make you feel welcome you didn't want to leave. I think we checked out early.
Note* We had to buy toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, coffee filters, coffee, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, and batteries for the remote. So, the next guest will have a few supplies. Case of water.
We take two big vacations a year, and I would never go through EVOLVE again when looking for a vacation rental.
Thank you~
Close to the beach and main attractions.

This trip was our first time at Old Orchard Beach. The location was incredible. Michael, our point of contact, was very responsive and helpful. The property, being steps from the beach, had all the amenities you could ask for. I recommend this property to anyone.

I visited Maine with my parents to celebrate their 50th. They wanted to see the Fall colors, so we came mid-October. Turns out, many shops close early (5ish) starting in October. Some entire towns close for the season as well; this includes Old Orchard Beach.

The overall stay was enjoyable. The house had some weird attributes like having to go through bedrooms to get to other bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs. It was close to the pier and beach in Old Orchard Beach which was nice, but like all the other properties in that vicinity you had to deal with the trains going by and blowing their horns at all the intersections. Mike was the go to person and he did a great job helping us with whatever we needed done.
