Just blocks from Boise's downtown hub lies 'The Legislator's Loft at Boise Heritage House,' a 1-bath studio vacation rental that invites you to do as you please. This charming unit shares a rich history with the on-site main house, having once been the home of an Idaho senator and a centrally located getaway for famous guests. In between trips to the Boise River Greenbelt and Boise State Broncos games — each a mile away — prepare quick meals at the kitchenette or unwind in the soaking tub.

The location and the studio were excellent. The manager was very responsive and helpful. I only give 4 stars because of a few things which could be better: no info provided in the studio (I expected the wifi code at least), the front porch light didn't work (making punching in the door code at night a challenge), and I wasn't advised that I had to punch in the door code to lock the door, not just to unlock it. Finally, info about the room trickled in with emails and texts from 3 different sources (VRBO, Evolve, and the actual property manager). I would have preferred a single email or text, provided once I paid in full, with all details in one place.

The bed was filthy dirty. Dead bugs next to the bed, and no working smoke detector, just wires sticking out. The smoke detector was missing. We couldn’t stay. It was so bad. It looks cute, but it’s really old and dingy. Also, very loud air conditioning wall unit. Stay someplace else.Communication with VRBO is very difficult. Called the host that evening and he could not accommodate us with something that was acceptable. Overall terrible service. I’ve rented in other places and it’s been fine. This was not. No refund so far and no response back either.

Heritage House
In town for Treefort music festival. Property was a short walk to everything we needed including the festival, breakfast, Trader Joe’s, and an amazing speakeasy downtown. Parking for the extra car was a little challenging but we figured it out. The unit itself was perfect and the shared courtyard very cute. All in all would recommend!
