  The location and the pond are fantastic. The bed was comfortable. If you have mobility or knee/leg issues this would not be a good fit. The stairs are steep and there are steps to the shower. The cabin is pretty cool and comfortable. We spent the majority of the time on the porch watching the pond and the wildlife.

• Would have been perfect!

  It would have been a perfect stay if it weren’t for the fact that when we got there they were not expecting us to stay there. We contacted the owner Beth and she was very apologetic and sent someone to clean the cabin. She offered us a late checkout as compensation but we did not take her up on that due to the following. The cabin was great for a day and a half and then we noticed a strong mildew/mold smell. We contacted the owner again and they said they would send someone out but the smell never went away for the remainder of our trip and we left early on Sunday. Other than that! it was beautiful and if they fixed the mold smell we would absolutely stay there again.

  From the Owner: "Hi Joshua, I'm sorry about the mix-up, and I take full responsibility that we made the mistake about your arrival date. As soon as we became aware of the issue, I arranged for my cleaner to come immediately, which she did. The mildew smell was because of heavy rains and storms we had had a few days prior, and a leak developed. My cleaner did return to try to fix it, but it required more work than that, so we had to go back after you left and fix the leak. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience, and I hope you will give us a chance to host you again now that the leak is fixed and the problem has been removed."

  We enjoyed our stay at secluded getaway. My husband and I found it clean, cozy and quiet. Our host was very responsive answering our questions and meeting our needs. We would definitely stay there for another quick trip to the Blue Ridge area.
