Modern Milledgeville Getaway: Walk to Downtown!

  My daughter and I arrived at our rental around 3:20pm. Check in time is 3:00pm, so we made our way to the upstairs condo that we had rented for 2 days. Used the code given to us by evolve and walked into the condo. Upon entering the first bedroom we looked in had an unmade bed and someone else's belongings. We were very confused and as we went in further noticed personal items in the bathroom and food in the kitchen area. WE immediately left the condo and called our contact person. He answered the phone and was also confused as to what was going on. He asked me to take pictures which I did although I was uncomfortable going back in as I was unsure if anyone was in one of the other bedrooms since the door was closed. After sending him the pictures he notified me that apparently the people who were supposed to be in the downstairs unit actually checked into the upstairs unit (still don't know why they were given the code for the upstairs unit though). So, although I did not want to be on the ground floor for a variety of reasons, we accepted that that was our only solution and offered to just stay there. Once inside I noticed there were a lot of gnats flying around. I opened the refrigerator and found gnats all over the inside of the fridge. I notified the contact of this as well and told him I would clean it out and all I got was a "ok thanks for doing that". THe bed that I slept in was very uncomfortable and sloped down in the middle. At 5am the next morning, we could hear the people above us getting ready to leave. We could hear every step they took and just about everything they did (one of the main reasons I didn't want the downstairs unit. We opted not to stay the second night because of not getting any sleep the night before. I messaged the contact and told him we were leaving and asked for a credit for the 2nd night due to all the issues we had. I still (2 days later) have not heard back from him. THe condo is super convenient to downtown Milledgeville and the GCSU campus, but that is the only thing it has going for it. I will never stay there again and certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

  Solid 4 star property. Good location. Property was just as described. It seems like a newer and maintained property. I’d love to see the windows have curtains to block out a little more sound and light, and the towels/bedding could be a little nicer for 5 stars.
