  My husband and I have stayed in Big Canoe several times and it is a favorite “go-to” for us. This was the first time we stayed in a condo here and I was initially concerned about hearing neighbors or vice-versa. However, several condos surrounding us were occupied and we never heard even a footstep. The back deck was relaxing as well as you could hear the stream flowing below and could enjoy the fall foliage.

• Condo in Big Canoe

  Condo in the heart of Big Canoe. Ok, but would not chose it again for the next stay. If you don't want steps, this may not be for you. Everything you need is there. Would have been great if our Condo Owner would have called us in ahead of time to prepare our way into Big Canoe. At the gate registration, they knew nothing about us coming and then had to track down the owner before they would let us in. So, off to a great start. With beautiful fall weather, it would have been nice to open windows and get fresh air! Windows need replacement pronto! Most are painted shut and/or hardware was non-working. There are no toiletries there. Was a few Kcups for the coffee maker, though we had brought our own. I had brought my own dish detergent and sponge- which was handy - since none was provided. No dish towel on site.....had to use a hand towel in the bathroom for that. It's an expensive visit for us on a fixed income, once you consider you're paying the vrbo fee AND a cleaning fee AND higher $$ nitely stays. Hmmmm.......

  Donna, The homeowners were surprised to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences, and would like to clarify the following:
  Owner's response: Donna, We are accustomed to providing our guests with a 5-star experience and were surprised by your review.
  
  - The front gate was having issues with their community computer system and they were not able to pull up your reservation. The security station called me immediately and they were able to get you confirmed within minutes, so the delay was only a few minutes.
  - None of the windows are painted shut, this is a direct violation of the covenant of the community as well as a fire hazard and we would never put any of our guests in harm's way. To open the windows all you have to do is flick the latch and crank the lever they all open and work well.
  - We provide all our guests with hand soap, bar soap, shampoo, and body wash. All of these items can be found in both bathrooms.
  -- The dish soap is in a built-in pump on the sink and there is more soap kept under the sink. We also provide 2 scrub sponges and a brush. The dish towels are in a drawer in front of the sink.
  - Also provided for all our guests are three rolls of paper towels one was on the counter and two were under the sink.
  - We're sorry that you were not satisfied with our home and that you couldn't find the items we provide all our guests.
  
  We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. We will continue to deliver the 5-star experiences we are known for.
