We spent a lovely week in the mountains, 2 adults and 1 five year old. The winding road was a fun adventure to the top of the mountain, but the views were incredible. There are other cabins nearby but it still felt very private. The sunsets were amazing. The shape of the building was so fun to explore... I stayed upstairs in the top of the octagon (you need to duck your head a bit-but was never an issue for me). My son and grandson stayed on the main floor. We didn't use the downstairs to sleep as my grandson is five, but would be fun with an older kid. We spent most of our time in the main living room/ sunroom. There are windows everywhere, so it felt very bright during the day. Evenings we were cozy on the couch watching movies. The kitchen was great and well stocked with cookware, and dishes. I cooked most of our meals there. The grocery store is really close as are other stores, restaraunts and the town.Even though the footprint of the building was not super big, there are so many different spaces to hang out in. We ventured into town a few times, rode the train, but mostly just stayed in. We experienced a bit of wind every night, but when you are staying on a mountain this is common I'm sure. Sad to leave, we had such a great time. Hosts super responsive.
