This is our 3rd year staying at The Barefoot Cottages for our family vacation. This cottage was beautiful and somehow felt cleaner than the other two we stayed in. I did try and use the little vacuum cleaner to get up sand I tracked in and it was broken. Thankfully there is a broom and dust pan there as well. The only two things I looked for and couldn't find was a big stock pot and crab leg crackers. My son wanted me to cook crab legs for us. We had St. Joe Shrimp Company steam some crab legs for us for pick up instead and my husband used the kitchen shears to crack them. That worked pretty good! DG Market nor the Sunstop had crab leg crackers. I'm sure you could purchase some at the seafood market, we just completely forgot to ask. So, overall, we had a great vacation!! I love the atmosphere at the cottages and the ability to go to different beaches due to their location. The other two years, we weren't near a pool and didn't even look for one. This cottage has a pool right in front of it, which was fun. I will say, my husband wanted to use the hot tub but I highly discouraged it due to how nasty it looked. Other people's germs and hot water scares me anyway. The trees around the pool keep it all pretty littered with debris and bugs. We saw someone cleaning the pool in the morning time. I know this is lengthy but we definitely plan to stay again next year!

What a great stay! Love that the pool was just steps away from the front door. You never know what weather is going to be like on the gulf coast. Because of the tropical storms brewing we spent more time at the pool in the complex. It was a lot of fun. The kitchen had all the basic needs, the Keurig coffee maker was dual meaning it had a full pot and individual servings. A Grayco playpen and booster seat that was provided came in handy with our visiting granddaughter (toddler). Plenty of linens in the house, including beach towels (maybe 5 or 6). The house was ready prior to checkin and clean. We were thankful. Had two burned out lights upon arrival and Scott handled it in record time. Our only complaint has nothing to do with the house, the Piggly Wiggly was hard to shop because of the influx of vacationers I’m sure. Be warned if you want something specific, bring it. All in all a great vacation despite the storms. (Shipwrecked - Mexico Beach- was great for breakfast & dinner. The Keeper was a great dinner spot) a great little town to visit. 6.20.2024

Super clean and well stocked house minutes from the public beach. It was a great escape for us and we enjoyed staying here. Port St. Joe is so much quieter than PCB but still plenty of restaurants and shopping if you desire. We had a little trouble with the gate codes but received helped shortly after asking. Overall a great getaway!
