  This older home on stilts on the water surely would not meet current code, so consider this a rare opportunity to experience Florida on the water. It's also unique since it is west-facing coastal property on the East Coast. We stayed when there were no other guests at the other two properties that share the grounds, so it was very quiet. Catch a sunset on the dock or, the highlight for us, a rocket launch. The shared grounds are unique and peaceful, and host a variety of wildlife depending on the time of day.

  While the home is older and has its quirks, everything essential is present for a comfortable stay. There is a sense of "stinginess" present, for lack of a better term. 3 coffee pods for a 4 night stay; 3 big plates; 3 small plates; 1 hand towel; etc. My best guess is the host has experienced problems from prior careless guests and now counts everything after each stay. I suppose this is reflected in the price, but I personally would have preferred an increase in price to keep the riff raff out and a more generous/welcoming experience.

  My only other complaint is that the 4.1 speaker system very clearly shown in the listing images was not usable. The owner removed the receiver and had all the speaker wires bundled up against the wall - again contrary to the listing images. That's probably not a big deal for some travelers, but I chose to leave my travel speakers at home and felt shortchanged when we had to listen to awful speakers from a cheap TV our entire stay. The host needs to update their listing images or at least put a written disclaimer in the description.

Since the three vacation rentals reside on 10 acres, it's very secluded and peaceful. We followed up with the owner, who would like to address the following:
  - The home was originally built in the 1960s, allowing its rare placement over the water. It has been fully remodeled, and all major systems—roof, A/C, and electrical—have been updated to meet current codes following multiple inspections.
  - We provide a starter supply of amenities, including coffee pods and basic dishware, and are always happy to provide more upon request. Since the unit includes a dishwasher, I’m surprised you had an issue with the amount of dishware. Additional linens and kitchen items can be made available with a quick message. Also, our supply room is open to guests and next to the Indian River house.
  - While the sound system is not listed as an amenity, we did find the picture and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. For accuracy, the listing will be updated to reflect this change.
  - The TV is a 45" Samsung model – less than a year old, appropriate for the layout and space available, especially considering the unobstructed 90-degree waterfront view through the hurricane-rated glass doors limits its placement.

• Exceeded expectations

  Everything about this stay exceeded our expectations! The property was beautiful. The studio was right above the water, giving us unrestricted views of the river. There was an amazing pond with an extra large gazebo that we could use to relax. The studio was well equipped for all of our needs. We could not ask for anything more! We can’t wait to come back and hope to make the next trip longer so we can enjoy more of this beautiful property. Thank you!

• Weekend Getaway

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Very peaceful and serene. The dock was our favorite. Saw dolphins and many stingrays right from the dock. Wonderful place to escape for a quiet and peaceful weekend!

  Wow what a beautiful quiet place to truly step back and appreciate what our creator has blessed us with! The serenity mixed with the wildlife makes this a cherished memory. To the owners Lou and April thank you for opening your home and your heart. We were blessed to meet you Lou and your spirit matches this environment.
