• Property not ready to rent

  I own rental property in Mexico Beach so I try to be very understanding when renting vacation properties. That being said, this was awful. First, the outdoor pictures have to be 8-10 years old. The landscaping has taken over everything, the drive, the side of the house and the back patio.

  When we arrived, the code given to us for the front door was wrong( never received the correct code) we ended up having to go through the garage. Which would have been fine but then the garage door worked occasionally. (Door needs to be replaced). Then the toilet was leaking, running out the exterior door, through the screen porch( water standing on carpeted screen porch) and out the back door. I contacted Nancy immediately, 4:15pm on check in day, maintenance man arrived 9:30am the next day. So we spent the night having to go through the other bedroom to use the bathroom (waking up the couple in that bedroom). The toilet was fixed but nothing was done about the wet carpet on the screen porch. Also when we arrived, there was 2 trash bins outside, they were half full, stinking with flies everywhere. I contacted Nancy and asked about trash pick up. Never received an answer and of course something got in the trash and scattered it everywhere. We cleaned it up!!!!

  The walk ways and back patio were covered in leaves and sticks ( which I notified Nancy it had not been blown off).

  We also encountered multiple roaches and spiders inside.

  Using photos that have been altered or not a current representation of the property IS UNEXCEPTABLE!!!

  Would we stay again?

  Absolutely not

  Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. We’re glad you chose this home for your trip, and we regret that you experienced a few issues. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your review, and they wanted to share the following:
  - The management company has successfully provided front-door entry codes for almost 100 bookings to date, but they’re sorry if you had trouble with access at check-in.
  - The interior was fully renovated on July 2, and updated listing photos are in progress. Since then, things have gotten even better, with all-new appliances, vanities, furniture, and flooring.
  - A repair technician addressed the toilet the morning after it was reported, and the garage door has been checked since your stay.
  - Trash bins are serviced between bookings, and the owner has not received other reports of insect issues; they were onsite recently and did not see signs of bugs. Regarding the exterior, the owner monitors the outside and reports that the landscaping has not been overgrown, and the current views align with the photos.
  We appreciate your feedback as it helps ensure future guests have the best possible experience.

  Very relaxing location. Aside from some minor maintenace(that is clearly still being done updated) it is a great place to stay! Our family enjoyed the stay and will be coming back for future stays!
