• Very Misleading & Mice

  I honestly wish that I would have seen the previous review before staying here. I can in fact confirm, there is a mouse issue in this house even after the property owners/management company denied it in the previous response. I even saw mouse traps in the cabinet, so they knew it was an issue. Initially, my family of 6 were incredibly excited to stay at this home as the pictures seemed perfect for us with a newly renovated home that was well kept. When we opened the door it smelled very stale as if no one had been there for a while and furniture that you could tell was grabbed from second hand resources that were worn. The couches were lumpy, beds were old. Also, it was odd that there was so much living space upstairs but no tv's except for a small one in the master bedroom and one in the downstairs family room. Lastly, the MICE. Contrary to what was said, we can clarify that there was no exterminator that came to the home. About an hr after being there, I was working in the kitchen and came eye to eye with a mouse. It paused for a moment, then scurried away in a hole in the wall that it knew was there, as if this wasn't its first time walking around that house. I reached out to the contact immediately, who was super nice and very responsive, until I sent the note about the mouse. I then called VRBO and was given the runaround asking if I had a picture of the mouse, which I of course did not. Eventually we were refunded after we left and got a hotel. Do not stay here.

• Family Christmas

  We were very impressed with the property - it was perfect for my family of 8 (adults) during Christmas. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and bakeware that was needed. I have stayed at other places where we had to shop for baking dishes, etc, but this one was well stocked. I liked the different living areas as well. I would recommend staying here and would stay again.

• Avoid this listing at all costs!

  If I could give this place zero stars, I would. At 1am our first night, we saw multiple mice in the kitchen/living area and for the rest of the night heard them scratching in the walls of our bedroom - we were so creeped out we were unable to sleep. We had booked a 3 night stay, but left as early as we could the next morning due to our concerns about the sanitation of this home, especially given we had kids and a newborn with us.

  The mouse infestation was only part of the problem. The place was shockingly unclean. The sheets, comforters, couches and bed railings in several bedrooms had crusty residues on them - not stains, actual residue that was not cleaned. The bathrooms were obviously not cleaned, with one shower full of hair in the drain, and dead spiders and dust balls on the floors. The place was filthy - if VRBO allowed us to post pictures, we would.

  To make matters worse, when we contacted Evolve for a refund, we were under the impression we would be receiving a full refund. However, now, over a week later, they’re only offering a partial refund. Out of deep concern for the well-being of future guests, we've insisted to VRBO that this listing should be investigated. There's a reasonable standard of upkeep that any rental should meet, and this property was far from it. We've never experienced anything like this and are still shocked this listing had 5 stars.

  Hi Marissa, we want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that is 100% ready for their stay, so we take the cleanliness of our properties seriously! We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
  - Our property manager thoroughly inspects the home between guest stays and confirmed no evidence of an infestation. However, after receiving your report, a professional pest control company was hired to conduct an inspection. While no evidence of an infestation was found they did identify potential entry points, which have now been addressed. Pest-repellent devices are also in place, and preventative treatments are ongoing to ensure guest comfort moving forward.
  - We use a cleaning service to professionally clean the home after every guest stay, including laundering all linens. We have since addressed your concerns with the cleaning team to ensure our high standards are met consistently.
  - As this home is a fully renovated, 50-year-old property, we are mindful of maintaining its charm while addressing any concerns brought to our attention. We hope that the measures taken made up for any inconvenience you encountered.
  We understand how disappointing this must have been, especially with young children in tow. While the homeowner did provide a partial refund in collaboration with Vrbo, we appreciate you sharing your concerns so we can continue improving the guest experience. Thank you again for your feedback!

• 2nd time we have stayed at this home and we just love the different spaces to enjoy and the location. Not to mention the FUN yard!! Thanks for sharing your awesome home.

• Perfect with the kids!

  This listing was awesome. My boys took over the basement and the adults had the upstairs and still had our own bathrooms. The kids really enjoyed the backyard with the trampoline and tree house. They didn't utilize the tree house as much as we thought they would but the trampoline was a hit. The grass was super soft and lush. The property manager was also very responsive. He sent all the details before check in. Thank you for the great stay! We needed a break before our trek home!
