  • Nice house, but loud construction next door

    This is a very cute small house. It has a functional small kitchen, areas to sit, comfortable beds, and a small yard. In terms of the house itself, there are a few drawbacks.One bedroom is in the basement. This isn't clear from the listing. It is a comfortable small room with a window, but the stairway is steep to access it.The sheets are older polyester and are very itchy. An upgrade to cotton sheets would be a nice improvement.The doorway threshold at the side entry door is a tripping hazard. The door is at the top of several concrete steps with no railing, which is dangerous, especially when carrying objects in or out of the house when you may not see the threshold as you walk through.The various fees and taxes associated with this rental for three nights doubled the cost of the rental itself. Don't be fooled by the seemingly reasonable per-night fee.The major drawback is that there is currently loud construction next door, which is not mentioned in the listing.During the two full days of our three night stay, the house and driveway were unusable because a crew was removing all the large trees and vegetation from the lot next door with loud saws, a bucket truck, and a smelly diesel powered wood chipper. The plans include demolishing the neighbor's house and building a new larger house. Once done, this listing will likely be a nice place to rent. But at present, you will likely encounter loud construction next door in a normally quiet neighborhood.

    – The listing notes that stairs are required to access the home, with two bedrooms and one bathroom on the main floor. We’ve also updated the listing to note the construction taking place next door, as this is an active and evolving neighborhood. We weren’t aware of the specific project until your second day, and once notified, we reached out to the contractor right away. We also worked with Evolve to offer a fair industry standard resolution in response to the disruption. As for fees and taxes, those are set by the booking platform and local jurisdictions, and are displayed before booking so guests can review the full cost in advance.
    – All bedding in the home is 100% cotton with a 400-thread count, selected for comfort and quality. We understand preferences can vary and will continue to keep guest comfort in mind when reviewing linens.
    – The side entry has not raised concerns in the past, but we appreciate your comments and will reassess the threshold and stairs during our next visit to ensure safety and ease of use for all guests. The listing notes that the fireplace is decorative only, and pet policies are also outlined clearly in advance, including the one-dog max and pre-trip pet fee.

  • Neighborhood stay next to family

    I had a wonderful stay for four days in the neighborhood. That was just a block away from our families house. We’re on able to walk to different restaurants. The house is very cute clean and very efficient. Enjoyed having coffee in the morning and we did not really cook it all while we were there, but certainly had enough equipment to do so. The backyard was nice for sitting out and catching some sun. Would love to come back

  • Home away from home!

    The Holly house was perfect for our needs. Our stay in Denver was different than most. My brother had surgery at Anschutz Medical Campus and our family needed to stay close to the hospital for 6 weeks. The neighborhood was quiet, the house was clean and comfortable and accommodated all of our needs. The kitchen is fully equipped and the private office is set up with a desk and printer. The family room has a large screen TV, plus books and games to stay entertained at home. The neighbors were very friendly and there are coffee shops and neighborhood markets within walking distance. The owner was gracious and kind when we had questions and needed to extend our stay. We would definitely stay there again!
