• Polar Express!

  We wanted something close to the Durango railroad to ride the Polar Express. This place was just perfect. We woke up to 50 or more wild turkeys. It was amazing. Also the deer walking thru the neighborhood. They were not afraid of us watching them. Kids just loved it! Everything you need for a comfortable stay.

  We arrived 2 hours later than our 4pm check-in time and walked in to a house that was not clean, dirty linens still on the beds, dirty towels on the floor, and dishes on the counters. We contacted the local host who had to scurry to find someone to clean. We had been on the road all day and had to leave the house for another 3 hours so they could get the laundry and cleaning done. There were holes in the walls, and the furniture in the living room was very old and uncomfortable, just needs to be replaced. The property is very dark and there is no outside lighting on the sidewalk. Must leave the porch light on all the time so there is light in the evening when you get back from hiking. Additionally, returned to the home after being out all day to a "water disconnect notice" hanging on the door.

This was an unfortunate miscommunication on our end, and I understand how frustrating it must have been after a long day of travel. As mentioned, we did our best to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and covered your first night to compensate for the disruption.
  
  Regarding the furniture and lighting, we appreciate your feedback. Our home is in a natural, forested setting, which can feel darker at night, and we recommend keeping the porch light on for safety. While the furniture is well-loved, we will certainly take your suggestions into account as we continue to make improvements.
  
  The water disconnect notice was due to an administrative error with the neighborhood’s payment system, and that issue has since been resolved. We strive to ensure our guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and we appreciate your input as it helps us improve the experience for future guests.
