• Plenty of space but needs repairs

  First of all the property manager Spencer is the nicest person I've ever encountered at a rental. He was very responsive, genuinely cared that we had a good time and did everything he could to make sure we had a nice stay.The house is large with lots of space to spread out and the kids had a good time.Unfortunately, the house is cluttered and filled with weird stuff (the master bedroom has a Tin Woodman doll as decoration). It is very obviously a family home first and a rental second. Certain house rules aren't conducive to a rental ( no shoes in the house, don't turn the heat above 70). It is an old house (which is fine) but it needs major updates - the kitchen tile is cracking and falling off, the stove is difficult to manage, floorboards are lifting, the furniture is not as presented in the online photos.This would be a fantastic rental if half of the decor was removed and some investments in repairs were made.

  - We appreciate your constructive feedback about the home. It has been in our family for almost 40 years (my parents built it before Northstar was cool) but is now almost exclusively a rental. We continually update the property as we identify areas for improvement and receive guest feedback.
  
  - We're sorry you didn’t love the Tin Woodman puppet! Ironically, we have an entire puppet collection in the basement room, which has been a favorite among many families—especially those with young kids, who make up a large portion of our rental base. We strive to balance maintaining the home's unique character with making it a comfortable, modern rental.
  
  Thank you for your comments on the shoes, kitchen, stove, and heat—those are important for us to know. The request for no shoes is simply to keep as much dirt off the floors as possible. In the wetter months, it’s easy to track in mud. We’ll look at providing better instructions for the stove and heat, and the kitchen is our next big upgrade, so that should be addressed in the next few months.
  
  - Lastly, new photos should be coming ASAP. We’ve made a huge number of updates over the past year, so you’re absolutely right—the current photos no longer reflect the space.

  Very convenient location, friendly and accomodating host, and perfect house for families! We thoroughly enjoyed this place. The free shuttle service (Northstar Transportation) picked up/dropped off at our door, which was a huge plus when lugging snow gear and small kids. Will definitely consider this home again for a future trip to the area.

• In Tahoe for family wedding

  Host was great; we got in early in order to make an afternoon rehearsal… Place was roomy, 2 nice decks, beautiful neighborhood, well-appointed. Needs a bit more cleaning, but understand the owners are working on it. All in all - great stay! Recommend highly!
