Well, where do I begin! The trip started well with the guest contact being helpful about what to experience while we're in town, which is the basis of my 1 additional star. Then everything went downhill from there....
We selected this location because it's advertised as "fenced in" and dog friendly. Boy was that false advertising! There's not a single area that's fenced in, in fact. No place to let the dog go pee, which was a major letdown and inconvenience.
Then, on the 2nd night, the bed in the upstairs bedroom gave out at 1am on our friends. Not to mention, during 100 degree weather, the ceiling fan in that room was so loose that when turned on, the fan blade would wobble so much it would touch the ceiling! My friends were forced to leave, before all the fun festivities in town occurred, in the middle of the night (2hrs away down a mountain). We didn't even know until that afternoon when they finally woke up after driving thru the night.
Also, most of the downstairs "remodel" looked like my 8yr old nephew was the contractor. Definitely not a professional job.
Then, while we were in contact constantly with the owner, the Minute I mention some sort of reimbursement I get no reply.
I honestly never write reviews. Ever. But needed to here. I gave both Evolve and owner a chance for reimbursement, and received $38 out of over $900. Seems unfair, you make your own decision as a reader. While I provided photos of the bed and the text conversation, I was met with report issues immediately (like my friends were going to call at 1am and wait for repairs so they could sleep) and document them better. How bout treat your customers fairly and not make them document like it was a crime scene, or have them refused refund because the bed issue ue wasn't reported until the following day.
Truthfully, if it was like 75-$100 I wouldn't even be here complaining. But $38 and their reasoning. Come on now, just rubbed me the wrong way.
Never had such a bad BNB experience in my life. I'll use VRBO and Air BNB, as I have for the last 20yrs without issue.

Hi James, we take it seriously when guests let us know that we missed the mark, and after sending your feedback to the homeowner, they’d like to share the following:
-We were happy to hear you enjoyed the welcome gift basket we provided and had a great time celebrating the 4th of July festivities. The parade can be seen from the front patio, which saved you on admission costs.
-We allow and welcome all dogs. The property provides dog supplies (dog beds, toys, dishes, etc.). We've had many dogs stay without complaints about the fence, plus we have both yards (up and down) have dogs enjoy while under supervision.
-We're sorry to hear about the issues with the upstairs bed and ceiling fan. A handyman was available to fix these problems immediately, but we understand that the timing was inconvenient. We have since replaced the bed and repaired the fan.
-We will continue to improve and upgrade our remodels to always offer the best service possible.
-Our goal is always to treat our guests fairly. While we provided a partial refund based on the documentation received, we regret that it didn’t meet your expectations. We appreciate your feedback on this process.
While we do regret our home was not up to your expectations, we are happy to report that no issues were reported by the guests who stayed the following weekend.
I cannot say enough good things about the Cabin. Everything about the cabin was well thought out, organized, and Super Clean. Since the first date, we made the reservations, we got a text with all the information that we needed, they even provide us with, places and activities that were close to the cabin. On the day of the arrival, the manager/owner send us text with a welcome message, and they even left us delicious wine bottle. What more attention do we need! :) The cabin is SUPER COZY. They had board games, and much more. This was our first get away trip and I can only say, IT WAS OUTSTANDING, BEAUTIFUL AND UNIQUE. My friends and I had a great time at the cabin. It really provided the setting to make for a perfect vacation.
How is ready to go back again? My Family and me.
