  My friend and I were in Mobile for a wedding, and this spot enhanced our overall experience. The house is as advertised and very clean. A minor issue came up while I was at rehearsal, and Jon had it resolved almost immediately. I absolutely recommend this place for anyone planning a trip to Mobile; this will be the first listing I check should I be traveling that way again. Thanks Jon!

• No downstairs heat

  This house is your typical old house; however why my rating is so low for overall is due to the fact I was not advised of the need for space heaters to heat the downstairs.When watching TV you have to turn off one of the heaters otherwise a circuit would blow.It was just too cold downstairs to enjoy meals and family time.

  The house was exactly as described—a beautiful historic home—and we enjoyed staying there. I am from Mobile and lived in Spanish Fort for a long time, and the house is in a great location for traveling to both cities. I would stay there again!

  Booking and the check in were a breeze. The quaint house was just too cute for words. Modestly decorated, but that’s fine too. The host was so kind as to leave waters, snacks, coffee, and many personal care items in case you need them. That was such a thoughtful gesture. The best part of the stay was Stevie. I assume she is the house cat because she knew her way inside. She never left the property. She was so cute and so sweet and likely pregnant 😟. We bought her food and blankets because it’s cold outside. Please feed Stevie. The most disappointing feature that I have to tell you about or it just wouldn’t be right. There is no heating or cooling downstairs. I called the host to ask about heating the downstairs and he told me “it will warm up in a minute or so because the heat upstairs will warm it.” We all know that heat rises and the only ductwork is in the attic. Nothing was going to warm the downstairs. We essentially had to spend all the time here in the bedroom. That was a bummer. I would say this place will be great when you can hit that sweet spot in temperature but there is no sweet spot in the south. It’s either hot, cold, or cold in the mornings and hot during the day. Anyway, I did enjoy the house, I wish we had been able to use the downstairs. I’m not sure if I’d ever stay there again.

  - The home is equipped with central heating and cooling for both levels, with vents located downstairs in the living room and dining area. An additional heat source is also available to help balance temperatures, and we wish you had reached back out during your stay, as we would have been happy to assist further.
  - Regarding Stevie, the cat is not part of the property but is a neighborhood stray who’s known for sticking around when guests show kindness. We are actively working to have her relocated to ensure future guests aren’t inconvenienced.
