  • Great location, but wouldn't stay here again

    3/5

This house is a cute older house with great location near Green Lake. While we appreciated the space it afforded us as a family, there were several issues.

First of all this house has ZERO central heating, which is unclear in the listing. Yes, it has electric space heaters for each room in the house, but when we arrived at 4pm checkin on a cold rainy day with a high of 42, the house was FREEZING. Even with the space heater turned to max in every room it took until midnight for us to shed our coats and hats.

Second, there were several items missing from the kitchen that are fairly standard in other places we have stayed through VRBO: a corkscrew to open wine (several wine glasses and a vase of corks were present though), a pasta fork and strainer, a hot water kettle, sauce pans, etc.

Third, lots of little things around the house were broken or had been repaired in haphazard ways. We realize it’s an old house, but the stairs up to the third floor attic bedroom were not evenly spaced and caused tripping up and down the stairs multiple times, etc.

“Parking on site” is listed as an amenity, but we were told we must park on the street in the area. Most of the time this wasn't a problem, but we did have to carry luggage and groceries much farther than ideal.

Finally, the smoke/carbon monoxide detector went off incessantly the last night we were there for around a half an hour at 11pm before we could get ahold of the host to take care of the problem.

  • Great location

    4/5

Location was amazing. The house looks like it’s in the process of being redone, but not quite there. Some cool aspects, but also some pretty wonky “landlord special” type stuff. Kitchen equipment is not stocked well at all, and we didn’t have toilet paper or TP. Had to reach out about that and it took a day to get us everything.

  • Quick Family Getaway to Seattle

    5/5

We stayed at this house as a quick family getaway. Great location with easy parking. Very close to the zoo, which was one of the main attractions for our trip. The space was fun for the kids. It was clean and tidy. Well furnished for our needs, we only ate out, but the kitchen looked well equipped for cooking. The provided towels were good quality.
