I've never left a negative review, but this place deserves it. Honestly, the listing borders on fraud. The place is filthy, the back yard is nothing like the listing shows and is filled with overgrown bushes and a huge downed tree that looks like someone attempted to cut up, but then gave up. The floors have huge gaps all the way around the house where quarter-round should be to complete the seam between the floor and the wall. Porches filthy, outdoor staircase rickety, covered in growing weeds. The dock railings have extremely large and thick spider webs on the entire length of the walkway, which was partially blocked by something on a handtruck. I checked in, looked around, saw that my wife would never stay at this place, so called her and told her to meet me at the Holiday Inn instead, and that's where we stayed. I never set foot in the house again, and I hope this review will save someone else from ever setting foot in it as well. This house is tired, run down, and looks like a half-hearted DIY remodel project that was never completed.

We're sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet expectations. The homeowner wanted to clarify the following:
- We maintain a regular cleaning schedule and have photos and videos showing the home and yard were clean and in good repair at the time of your arrival.
- The deck is swept regularly, but since it's fall, fallen leaves can accumulate quickly. The vines you mentioned near the outdoor stairs are flowering plants, not weeds.
- The downed trees are located on land regulated by the U.S. Army Corps, and per their guidelines, we are not permitted to remove them entirely, only from walkways like the golf cart path. These trees came down during Hurricane Helene in October 2024.
- South Carolina naturally has JoJo spiders, and while there are no spider webs inside the home, they can appear on the dock. Because the dock is over water, pesticide use is restricted by government regulations. However, we do supply a broom and spray on-site to help with this.
- The floating dock sections were recently repaired, and we’ll follow up with the service provider to ensure all the floats are removed.
Thank you for letting us know about your visit.
Perfect quiet lake retreat for a few days.

The dock and location were beautiful, with a great view—but it was tough to enjoy at times because of all the spiderwebs. The kitchen was large, though not well stocked for cooking for a big group. We also noticed crumbs in the cabinets when we arrived, and the interior paint was a bit worn. Once we got past those things, we were able to settle in and enjoy the stay.

From the Owner: "Thank you for your thoughtful feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the beautiful location and view. We’re aware of the spiderwebs on the dock. Unfortunately, the HOA does not allow spraying, but we’re installing a new Trex deck this September, which should help. We do have a full set of cookware and utensils (pots, pans, knives, and cooking tools are located under and next to the stove), as well as place settings for 21 guests, with sleeping arrangements for 14. We’ve also recently hired a new cleaner who started last week, so cabinet cleanliness and general upkeep will be improved moving forward. Thank you for staying with us, and we’d love to welcome you back for an even better experience next time!"
House as described
Had pretty much what we needed bedroom and kitchen appliances
Note charcoal grill on back porch no gas
Fish were plentiful for the kids
Nice boat dock and stairs leading into the water!
Good value for price
Plenty for the kids to do
I suggest rent or bring boat
Nice size cove and outlet for tubbing off the main lake
The house was great! We had 10 adults and 3 children stay and there was plenty of room! The dock was large enough to fit all of us. We would definitely stay again for sure!! The owner reached out to us a couple of times to check if everything was ok.
