We were in town for a wedding and had a large group, so overall it covered our needs. However we picked this place because 3 of our group wanted to go swimming, even though it was October. They were disappointed to find out that the pool was Mountain Dew green and unusable. The layout of the house was beautiful and we had plenty of linen and toiletries. The downstairs smelled like dog but I later understood it was a pet friendly place. The bathrooms were clean but we found out that using the upstairs bathroom(where the main 4 rooms are) was unusable as it leaked into the back room down stairs, and you could smell the septic tank issues from the washroom by the stairs. Still it was usable and served its purpose. Thanks Evolve.

    Manager's Response:

From the owner: Thank you for choosing Bahahaus. We agree that the layout is great, and it allows large groups of people to feel comfortable due to the many public spaces and two large yards, and decks.

We are sorry that the pool was unusable as the pool cleaner had not been coming regularly due to the weather turning cold, and his work was closing many pools in the area. We usually close the pool in October. We have solved this issue now, as many guests still want to use the pool. Now we maintain the pool every two days.

The leakage issue is something that needed a diagnosis and evaluation. Now we understand it better, and several contractors have reviewed it. We will need to replace the shower, the faucet, and the plumbing. It is being repaired this Monday, 20 Oct.

To all potential guests, please give this property a chance and do not look at the low reviews. We do believe it is a good value for the nightly fees paid, and we offer a clean and comfortable place for all our guests.

This property is rough. Two positives were the beds were comfortable. There were plenty of towels…

It was dirty. Trash in closets, used soap in the bathroom, candy wrappers on bookshelves, and dust everywhere.

    Yard was overgrown and unkept.

Had we had another option we would have taken it.

The home is being reviewed for both cleaning and outdoor maintenance improvements, and I’ve already begun coordinating updates with my team to ensure everything is fresh and guest-ready. I’m glad you found the beds comfortable and the linens well stocked, and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts to help us keep improving."

We were the first guests to stay at this property and honestly it didn’t seem like it in some ways. There was a thick layer of dust on a lot of things. There were no coffee mugs or cereal bowls, no vegetable peeler, and no can opener (no big deal but should be mentioned- especially if you make coffee in the morning). The towels seemed fresh and new, and mini toiletries were provided which was nice. But when we stripped the bedding per check out instructions, there were quite large and noticeable stains on one of the twin mattresses and at least two pillows. The pool was extremely cloudy, to the point that the kids couldn’t use any sinking toys because they’d be lost. There was also A LOT of old dead leaves at the bottom of the pool. There is no grill or fire pit on the property. The house itself was very interesting to explore and has a unique layout, witch old wood detail throughout. It should be noted that the stairs leading to the back of the house and to the pool are extremely highly and dangerous for kids, so use caution there. We did have a feeling of “they tried.” They had fresh fruit delivered to us our first night, which we thought was sweet. There were cute touches throughout the home. But overall, we felt like there wasn’t a lot of effort in cleanliness for us being the very first guests on the property.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Nicole, we want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that is 100% ready for their stay, so we take the cleanliness of our properties seriously! We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
    - The house was originally built in 1948 and recently updated with new paint, doors, and 10mm laminate floors. While it has vintage charm, we keep it clean and tidy, so we're surprised to hear about dust. We're sorry it didn't feel that way during your stay.
    - There’s a china cabinet in the living room with over 30 coffee cups, bowls, and serving platters. We also stocked the kitchen with a peeler, wine opener, and can opener in clearly organized drawers.
    - The pool is above ground and surrounded by trees, so leaves fall in regularly. We vacuum the pool daily when the property isn’t occupied, but the setting can make it tough to keep the water completely clear.
Thanks for taking the time to leave your review.
