We really enjoyed our stay. You are in the woods, but minutes to town. We had campfires & smores in the back yard, and we grilled and ate on the big front porch. We were visited by both black bears and deer. It's an easy walk to the little beach at the lake as well. We needed to clean the porch and campfire area, but being in the woods you'd expect that. It's been dry up there this year and there was a lot of flammable pine needles on the ground around the fire pit. It was easy enough, though, because they had a rake and large broom in the basement. Our only struggle was that the room with the bunk beds was small and the top bunks were very close to the ceiling (which didn't work as planned for our teenagers). That room also tended to be a bit stuffy, but they had plenty of fans for us to move around which helped. We found everything we needed in the kitchen and it had great appliances, but a number of the dishes had chips and some of the pots and pans had loose handles. Overall, it's a great rental and we'd definitely stay there again.
Met most of our needs but could use some new pots and pans and glassware in the kitchen. Also could use better lighting throughout the house

Such a spacious home! Plenty of space so you aren't tripping over each other! Patio is large with big grill, 2 tables and 6 chairs! Great for coffee, lunch, dinner and card games! Inside has a large dinner table (with unsteady chairs, so if you're bringing a baby/toddler that needs a booster seat or high chair, these are not the chairs to put one on! They tip really easily, so we put the portable high chair on the floor. And had to keep an eye on the the rest of the Little kids because if they didn't sit right in the center, the chair tipped sideways). The bedrooms were adequately sized, allowing us to put a mini crib in the basement bedroom. The house sits on a main road. This was our ONLY complaint. Cars do NOT do 25 mph at all. We are a huge walking/bike riding family. We couldn't walk/bike the main road to the beach, instead had to take the side roads around and even then, cars were flying and almost to took us out numerous times. Such a bummer. We had a rain storm while there, and apparently lost power for about 30 minutes - but we only knew because we heard the generator! This is a HUGE PLUS!! No one wants to be without power on vacation with kids! We had a wonderful 2 weeks making memories! Thank you, The Maurice Family

Although the online pics made the home appear bigger than it was, it had adequate room for our family. The house was clean & there was plenty to do in the area. Fun trip
