  • Annual Family Lake Trip

    5/5

This year we chose Hayesville N.C. for our yearly family lake house trip.

We definitely were not disappointed. Very nice lake house. Very nice screened in porch where family sat and played cards and some of us just rocked and enjoyed the view.

Everyone enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards and just swimming in the lake.

In the evening we enjoyed sitting around the fire outside or playing pool.

The host are very nice and very accessible if you need to get in touch with them.

  • Perfect Place for our family get together!

    5/5

We had family coming in from across the country to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. This place was PERFECT. We needed a place for everyone to help prepare/cook for the event, as well as the family together and hang out.

I selected this place first because it was close to the venue and where family members were staying. The floor plan was open and the furniture looked sturdy (A lot of the photos of other places appear to have almost plastic like furniture which does not work unless you are tiny). This also had 2 bedrooms with king beds on the main level and minimal steps to get inside.

Although those were the main reasons, this place far exceeded our expectations. My parents had siblings, kids, grandkids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews in town - kids and adults. Plus many long time friends. A blended family growing up, mom has siblings that had never met, so this really gave us a place to hang out. The kids LOVED playing pool & games in the basement away from the adults and swimming during the day. The screened in porch had a nice mix of chairs, rockers & tables. Downstairs on the patio was another table and rockers and then by the fire pit were plastic adirondack chairs. Plenty of seating and plenty of parking in the very long driveway.

The owners were very responsive when my mom reached out for anything and the price was very fair.

The kitchen was stocked, there were plenty of blankets. I would suggest bringing towels for the lake (my parents are local and I am 2 hrs away so I brought a bunch with me since many had flown in). Also, the hall bathroom only has a tub. But there is a walk in shower in the master and another downstairs, so was not an issue for us.

I would definitely rent here again if I was looking for a place in the area. With all of the festivities, I did not get to explore as much as I would have liked. However, being semi local and a past avid hiker, I am familiar with the area.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with my extended family.
