  The property was not as nice as the listing. The cleaning job was poor. The towels were folded up wet in the bathroom. The floors were sticky, the coffe pot was filthy and cracked. The entire kitchen was not appealing. There was only 1 frying pan and 1 very large pot to cook with, which were gross. The place was decorated very nicely, but the maintenance on the place is terrible. I washed everything before we used it- towels, sheets, dishes. Not the way I wanted to spend my vacation. We initially wanted to leave, but the host did bring a new coffee pot and more pots and pans for us to use. The location was great because we were visiting my sister, so we decided to stay. Once we cleaned everything we decided to stay.

  As soon as we arrived I noticed ants on the kitchen counter, kitchen floor, bathroom and kitchen table. This really limited where we could eat as we didn’t want to attract more ants, but also didn’t want to be anywhere in the kitchen! The cabinet doors are falling off, the sponges looked used and old. The water sometimes wouldn’t come out of the master bathroom sink, and then it would spray out getting us all wet. The tv upstairs wasn’t connected to the internet. The owners were receptive to the call of the ants and dropped off some spray, but it wasn’t a nice place to stay. Little things like the closet door was hard to open and close, the toilet paper holder was broken, the yard had random chairs scattered. It all just seemed like it wasn’t maintained.

• Enjoyed our stay

  We enjoyed our stay. The location is nice with a water view from the porch. The downstairs area is nicely decorated as is the upstairs suite. We had some challenges with the water as it would go off in the shower when the sprinklers came on. The shower water downstairs had a sulfur smell. Upstairs, and in the kitchen, the water was fine. The Home was tastefully furnished and in a nice location for visiting the beaches and local towns.
