We stayed 3 nights. I was skeptical to rent because there were no reviews. Then a one star review came up w/o a written write up so I thought maybe that was a mistake plus it was past the cancellation deadline. We rented for the pool. I had radiation 3 weeks ago and I wanted to just soak in the water. The pool floor was very slick it needed vacuuming and there was some debris. The pool area was messy, especially where all the chemicals are. There should be a door there. There was a fire pit by the pool full of cigarette butts. There was a cup under the grill full of grease. The sliding door to the backyard was very hard to open and didn’t lock they had a broom handle to put at the bottom to keep door from opening. No lock on the sun room sliding door that faces driveway. The grass was high it had not been cut.
I reached out when we first got there about the tv. Live tv was not working. She responded right away but it didn’t work the whole stay. Said it could be out in the area. The rest of the Roku worked. Otherwise the inside was ok except: heavy dust on mantle and ceiling fan, lights on microwave don’t work, towel in the master bath had a big whole in it.
I didn’t report the pool. I was only going to have 2 days to use it Monday and Tuesday and didn’t want to spend those days waiting on a vacuum.
This house has potential but it needs work.
Rented Tues-Sun. Day 1 arrived after dark, poor exterior lighting, husband tripped over raised landscaping edge next to driveway, landed in rocks cut & bruised. Pool was dark green, full of toys. Front yard grass about 14" tall. Backyard lot of trash, lg, deflated mylar balloons, and a trashcan 3/4 full of something with a lot of eggs on surface (some un-hatched? not sure kind, discoverd on Day 3). We frequently surfed across hardwood floors on bedroom rugs w/no rubber backing; our dog loved it but difficult for husband w/Parkinson's. Day 2 our dog learned gate latch to pool area inoperative; we rigged a wire closure to keep her out; serious safety concern if small children. Early Day 2 Grounds mgmt Mike worked hard to chem treat pool & vacuum algea, still unusable. Day 3, hall shower belching up grass/dirt, not draining. Many text messages to host Samantha, she & her indoor manager (husband?) showed up Day 3 to inspect shower & pool. Could not snake/clear, so said go ahead & share the master shower. Pool looking good, okay to swim. I bought a chem tester, showed her results: ph & alkalinity so low wont register--explained to them un-safe to swim. Day 4 Mike called--talked to owner, getting chems to correct, keep cking. Day 5 he last worked on pool; 5:30pm chems register safe. Swam 1 hr before Sat dinner; cked out Sun 10am. Late Day 5 owner called to apologize, request talk. Talked next few days, offered 25% disct & promise to address issues.
