Airy Oceanfront Condo: Steps to Daytona Beach

  PROS: View of beach is great. Interior of condo is as advertised, very nice. CONS: EXTERIOR surroundings are not as one would expect. Renovation and/or construction work on adjacent high rise building all day. Not easily found - especially at night. No condo sign or name clearly visible for you to know that you've reached the condo and the entrance looks like an alleyway. Access code to condo incorrect per instructions given . Contact person isn"t management either, it's the cleaner (although a very pleasant lady). Pool was unavailable the entire 9 days we visited. Had I known prior to booking I wouldn't have booked this condo.INTERIOR was clean, neat and appeared to be in working order. However, Master bedroom bed frame was broken, missing entire middle support leg . Our suitcase made us aware of the issue prior to getting into bed. 2nd bedroom door doesn't close due to broken/bent hinge. Bed is a memory foam that feels like a rock. Didn't use bunkbeds but they seemed fine.Living room TV remote didn't workCouch in living room is a hide away that didn't fold out. It seems to be broken as well and made couch uncomfortable.Lastly, if management is going to schedule pest or any kind of maintenance, maybe notify current occupants of said maintenance prior to them banging down the door.

  • Nearby construction was active during this stay. The listing and pre-arrival messages now include a clear notice when work is scheduled, including typical hours.
  • The access code issue has been reviewed, and a backup code policy is now in place to prevent future technical errors.
  • The pool closure was temporary and has since been resolved.
  • The master bed frame was repaired promptly once the issue was discovered, and the TV and remotes have been double-checked for proper operation.

  The owner was great--very accommodating. VRBO was excellent as well. The accommodations were as advertised. If there is a "down side," it was one older guy that lived in a different unit on the property. He must has been the acting Super, or he designed himself to be. There are cameras all about the property. My wife and I were sitting in the pool area with NO ONE ELSE AROUND. This old guy came over to inform us that there is a rule about no glass in the pool area (we were drinking beer from a glass bottle) and no smoking "anywhere on the property." He added, "there are signs everywhere." There were sings on the balcony of the building; that's all I saw, none anywhere else. Again, we were all alone, no one around, minding our own business with no complaints, and he had to make it his business to come and jack around with us. Furthermore, on a different day, there were people who were not staying there, using the pool and smoking. Nothing was said to them.

  Nice place, clean and has EXCELLENT beach access! The only negative for us was the upstairs didn’t get as cool as we would have liked.
