  While the property is roomy with a fantastic view of Donner lake , its proximity to the highway makes it extremely noisy at all times . Not the cleanest either.Very strange there aren’t any outdoor decks. As we were there in winter this was ok but I would never rent in summer without outdoor space to enjoy . Also , The person in the downstairs 2nd bedroom has to run up and down steep stairs to bathroom or walk through the master to access . Very inconvenient .

• Donner Lake View w/Large Entertainment Space

  I invested hours in searching for the optimal greater South Lake Tahoe VRBO rental to entertain and visit with my friends. My criteria included square footage, privacy, chef's kitchen, proximity to ski resorts, and price. This was the clear winner! We didn't even go out to dinner; there was so much room in the kitchen that we had 3 chefs whipping up meals simultaneously; the kitchen was exceptionally well-equipped for all of our cooking needs. Then for a beautiful 180+ degree view out the dining/living room space of Donner Lake, snow covered mountains, and a train that passes through occasionally on the mountainside. This home was recently remodeled by the owner and it is gorgeous inside with the granite countertops, flooring (heated in bathrooms), nice showers, etc... The beds were comfy; I have back issues and actually hurt my back skiing, but got a great night's sleep on the memory foam cushions on top of the mattress with my earplugs in (as I'm a little sensitive to the highway 80 sound below). This home was great "bang for the buck," especially given that we were able to split the costs between 3 couples. They were nice enough to accommodate our well-behaved dog family member and there was no evidence of previous dogs visiting the home. Highly recommend to fellow VRBO'ers. Only recommendation for improvement to maximize bookings would be to add 2 decks and a hot tub.

• Epic views

  This property has a lovely large entertaining space for a family to gather and enjoy views of Donner lake and the surrounding mountains. The kitchen was well equipped with pots for cooking. The property worked well for our dog who is a member of the family, and enjoyed laying in front of the wood stove. The host was very responsive. Thank you for hosting us!
