    The cabin was everything we where expecting BUT it was 25 degrees and there was NO propane for hot water or heat. We had to take the BBQ tank down to the gas station everyday to get propane. But again we loved the charm of the place. We would stay there again.

  • Frustrating Holiday

    The cabin is pretty cool if you like rustic (and I do), but it's not ready for VRBO guests. From the outset we ran into problems trying to connect to WiFi, which is particularly important since cell service in this area is severely limited. I was fortunate to have a strong enough signal to contact the property manager, with whom I spent the entire first evening trying to sort out the problem... they eventually gave up and told me they would resolve it the next day. I didn't hear from them until 9;30p the following day, with only a promise to get it resolved on day 3. It never got resolved.The lack cleanliness of the place made me slightly uncomfortable. The very first dish i took from the cabinet was dirty, and throughout our stay found the same issue with many utensils, dishes, and cookware. Bath linens were nice, but bed linens were old and difficult to certain of their cleanliness. We had two 12 year old girls with on this trip, and at least a dozen times I had to respond to their screams, terrorized as they can be by beetles they repeatedly encountered. I'm thinking a simple fumigation could have prevented this. At one point there was a pronounced smell of gas in the cabin... neither the property manager nor the owner seemed concerned when I alerted them to the issue. We left early, and I asked the owner to refund our final day and consider a discount for the previous day. He assured me he would address it with VRBO. I've heard nothing in weeks.

    Hi Charles, we’re sorry to hear your stay didn’t live up to expectations. After discussing your feedback with the homeowner, they wanted to address the concerns you raised:
    - We worked diligently to resolve the WiFi issue, despite being in a different time zone and dependent on our internet provider's availability. We regret the delay and have since resolved the problem.
    - The smell of gas was mentioned while you were away from the cabin, and we asked to be notified if the issue persisted. We did not hear back and have since confirmed there was no gas smell during follow-up visits.
    - Cleanliness concerns, including dishware and bedding, were not brought up during your stay, but we have addressed this feedback with the cleaning crew to ensure higher standards moving forward.
    - As the cabin is located in the forest, occasional encounters with beetles can happen. We have not received this complaint before or since your stay. We confirmed with Evolve a partial refund has been issued to make up for any inconvenience you encountered.
