  • Fun winter weekend

    5/5

We had a wonderful experience with a full house of middle schoolers. The cabin was perfect for us: two upstairs bedrooms and two downstairs. The bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The living room/dining area was beautiful and spacious. The kitchen has everything you need, we cooked several meals there. Its also about 15 minutes from Arnold, with several cute restaurants and a large grocery that has ready-cooked food. The guest contact was extremely responsive and helped us out a couple times, for example a circuit tripped so they told us how to flip the breaker. Took about 30 seconds, so easy! The house brochure was fantastic, so we could figure most stuff out on our own. The only tricky part for us was the very steep driveway.

The first night, we let ourselves in using the lockbox, cooked dinner, and enjoyed a movie night together in the living room. It was a clear night so we also enjoyed the gorgeous deck and the lounge set and did some stargazing. The second day, we cooked breakfast and walked over to snowshoe lake with an inflatable boat and cruised around. The lake is small and not too deep (there is a bigger lake in Arnold for fishing and more serious boating) so it seemed perfectly safe to let the kids boat in it (with lifejackets). The water was surprisingly warm in the dead of winter! We then drove out to Arnold to do a longer hike there and ate dinner in town. When we returned, we ate dessert, played board games, and did another movie night. Our last morning it snowed, absolutely gorgeous. The kids sledded down the little hills and walked along the creek across the street from the cabin.

Our group of kids are all video game aficionados and play online together most evenings. Because of this, I was a little worried they would get bored on a weekend in the woods. but there was so much to do in the cabin and in the area that they kept themselves busy and happy the whole time. I think the cabin would be suitable for really any age range, everything is baby proofed and there are baby gates. But it also has plenty for older kids and adults.

  • A Peaceful Retreat

    5/5

We booked a weekend at this cabin to kickstart the holiday season. It is nestled among the trees in a quiet, peaceful community. The air was crisp and refreshing, and the drive to and from the cabin was absolutely amazing.

We received a digital guidebook and check-in/out instructions well in advance, so we were well-prepared for what to expect when we arrived. The guidebook was a nice touch and made me feel like the property owner genuinely appreciates Arnold and the surrounding areas.

The cabin felt cozy and clean. We felt compelled to spend an entire morning sleeping in and enjoying the property itself (or as much as a toddler allows) and it felt nice to slow down and enjoy the peace and quiet.

I appreciated that the main tv was anchored down and any drawers with knives/tools etc. were secured with child-safe locks.

The highlight of this cabin (aside from the location) has to be the kids room. I won't ruin the experience for future guests, but that room provides plenty of things to do if you decide to stay in for the day.

I suppose that's the beauty of this location. It doesn't feel like just a place to sleep. You can kick back and enjoy the property, but you also have plenty to see and do nearby.

Overall, my experience here was a great one. The guest contact provided great communication, and the check-in and check-out processes went smoothly. We will be back!
